Learn boxing. If you learn to grapple you are going to take a guy to the ground, then his friends are going to stomp you into the dirt. In the example of your posted webm OP, if that fucker had his hands OUT OF HIS POCKETS and was able to box he could fend off the first one, create distance, then run. He wouldn't be lying on the ground trying to strangle one of them while the other ten stomp on him. You want to stay on your feet, create distance, then run. Any criminal will have friends, you need to flee them, and be able to take them on as they get close again if they are faster. Watch any video of a person kicking ass wholesale, he's always boxing.

I've been boxing since I was 17 and have 4 fights and have been practicing in a gym that blends kickboxing, karate, and muay thai for striking and have trained in wrestling and BJJ for a couple years. I've done 3 PKBs and one mma fight.

When you're in clinch or if you know you're about to take body strikes you want to flex and tighten your abdomen to help absorb the blow. It makes a big difference in preventing injury and also not exhausting you, but good body blows can still injure you or work you over regardless.
Just putting on muscle isn't going to make a big difference by itself, it comes from actual sparring and getting used to eating the punches and knowing how to deal with it.

Take a look at professional fighting leagues and see what the world's best fighters are using. Overwhelmingly for striking you will see boxing, kickboxing, karate, muay thai, and tae kwan do. For takedowns it's judo and wrestling. For rolling it's almost solely BJJ at this point.
I won't say that sambo or krav maga are bad, but to be honest the Russians are notorious for perpetuating bullshit martial arts with "energy" take downs and krav maga is basically just an mma style with a ton of cock punches, eye gouges, etc.
The problem with either of these is:
A. Finding a gym that teaches them
B. Finding a GOOD gym that teaches them
C. Being able to actually train, spar, and compete at an aggressive level so you get an actual real working understanding of them instead of just hitting pads and bags.

I've been in a few fights I didn't want to be in, albeit with college white kids when I was a college white kid. The best thing to do is try and make yourself look as intimidating as possible. Pump out your shoulders, make eye contact, jut your jaw, and just say you don't want trouble. If they won't leave, lead with your left to the head with quick body shots with your right to the gut or nose/throat, you'll take a few hits but to make them less effective turtle your head into your neck and lift your shoulder if you can't get a fist up to keep from direct shots.
Usually at that point the wild swinging begins and that's when you either a. try and land as many hits as possible or b. Tackle them and keep their arms above your ribs so all they're hitting is your back, get them to the ground and by then somebody usually breaks it up.
I'm a pretty big guy (4 u) muscle/fat, so if I land any blows they usually work.
As far as being outnumbered goes, I'd create distance and let my buddies Smith and Wesson or fair lady Kimber do the defending.
