The biggest difference is at night in boot religion fags get two minutes to go to a circle and pray. I had to remain at attention at my footlocker. Some non religious guys would use it as on opportunity to socialize and just talk, but I didn't. Only guy out of 100 that didn't participate. Even the DI asked me once if I was mentally OK.
Worst part was a religious guy in my platoon I gave shit to because he would always read the Bible lost his faith and turned to an alcohol after a few years.
