As I understand it, the initials when pronounced sound like a slang term for father. Sort of like "pay pay shah" and is play on a Russian term for "old man" or something like that. We really need a Slav who's not drunk right now.
>>30169095
Shot gun
>>30169095
all incorrect its pronounced Shpagin
>>30169245
Sort of like if the Americans had a DD41 sub gun it would get called a "daddy 41".
>>30169275
Close. No cigar for you.

>We really need a Slav who's not drunk right now.
I am a slav and (mostly) not drunk, but I have never heard that.
>>30169288
So you're saying it'd be papa? Because that's weird and I've never heard that.

And the pkm "peh-keh-imm"
>>30169366
PehPehSha and cut the end off so it's more than "sh" but less than s"haw" is what I heard.
>>30169481
That's a pretty accurate way to describe it.
>>30169463
Doubt it. Like was said, the initials PPSh look like a specific honorific term for father so are pronounced like that.
>>30169463
arr peh gee
Roll your Rs and pretend you're british
and
pehkeh
We don't use the ehm, at least not that I've ever heard.
>>30169528
>Like was said, the initials PPSh look like a specific honorific term for father so are pronounced like that.
Except that's wrong, the initials are ППШ, which is derived from Пиcтoлeт-Пyлeмёт Шпaгинa (literally pistol machine Shpagin), and ППШ is roughly pronounced peh peh sha. I've never before heard of it being an honorific.
How do you pronounce THIS weapon? Dushk? Douchek?
Isn't there an easier way to say this thing than sounding out each letter of it's acronym, yet without sounding like a retard making a noise while attempting to bite his shoulder?
>>30169746
dushka
>>30169746
Douchekay
>>30169746
Deshka
>>30169746

>Isn't there an easier way to say this thing than sounding out each letter of it's acronym, yet without sounding like a retard making a noise while attempting to bite his shoulder?
Honestly, unless you're around a bunch of turbo autists or are in non-western country, just say the translations letters, people will get you fine.

That's over pronouncing the a. К has a very soft ah in it, deshka is far too hard.
>>30169095
Pistolet-Pulemyot-Shpagina
P.P.Sh
Note the "Sh" is like that because it's a Cyrillic letter "ш" that doesn't exist in the Latin alphabet. Pronouncing it by itself is a bit awkward so it ends up sounding like a "Shah" sound. Hence "Peh-Peh-Shah". And that inevitably got amalgamated into a bunch of other nicknames as widely issued and loved/hated military equipment acronyms typically do.
"Papa Shaw"
Not giving a fuck how it's really referred to.
>>30169746
De-She-Ka
"She" sounds akin to "She" from "Sherman".
>>30169746
