Lets talk baseball bats. As far as clubs are concerned they are pretty much the tops, but rather than material, what SIZE is best for self defense/fighting?
Something you can wield with one hand, or just a big ass Louisville slugger?
Is it better to have something you can bring down like an axe on someone, or something you can swing faster?
I really don't care about possibly hitting light fixtures if I actually have to fight someone, all i care about is usability in a fight.
Also, yes, I know guns > clubs, but humor me.
Speed and weight have always been important with weapons, one handed club is basically a baton and they'll fuck shit up if the owner knows what they're doing

Woodcutting axes are also terrible weapons. Battleaxes are much thinner and lighter.

Depends. What do you want to do with your off hand? Most can be used with both hands, the longer they are the better you can defend, ideally treating them as a short staff and a hand on each end.
Though it'd be hard to conceal. A collapsible baton is pretty much king since they're concealable, and shatter bone arguably better than a bat due to the smaller impact area and solid metal construction. They can't parry as well, when using them LE take on a boxing stance and use their off hand to protect themselves.
