Been looking at 10mm guns, the Glock 20 is making me fully torqued - is 10mm worth? 10mm thread?
Only practical uses are a trail/large game defensive gun.
I have one I carry while I hike for cougars and bears. I'd trust it with my life for the job I use it for, but other than that it's nothing special. If you have a use for it, get it. If you want it for fun, get it. If you're asking if it's a practical round, then no not really, but it has its applications.
10mm is fun as fuck, expensive as fuck, and not something I would generally recommend to people unless you really, really want one and/or have a need for a larger caliber gun for woods carry, etc
It's a niche application caliber, I have one for woods carry but it's too expensive to plink with on a regular basis like my 9mm's
>is 10mm worth?
Yes it is worth. And don't ever listen to anyone who doesn't do this.

it's the most powerful semi auto pistol caliber that both fits in a standard size grip frame and is common enough you can find it at most gun stores
from a steel frame it doesn't kick any worse than .45, but I imagine it'd be snappier from a plastic fantastic

this wordfilter still cracks me up

For outdoors? Yes
Self Defense? Probably Not - To become proficient reloading is a must, all that recoil requires a lot of extra practice than if you were utilizing a slightly less powerful cartridge. A Glock 20 can be concealable but requires an excellent holster/ belt rig and even more importantly a cover garment ( jacket, vest, etc). Finally, 10mm loaded by ALL commercial ammo manufacturers is essentially warmed over 40s. To actually benefit from the drawbacks, underwood or double tap loading me are necessary. Furthermore ammo manufacturers haven't developed bullet technology for the 10mm like they have with their service calibers (9,40,45). So while you might be getting more horsepower out from the cartridge, you'll be hindered by old bullet technology. 10mm fags will bring attention to underwoods loading of the gold dot, but this is a 40 bullet pushed to 10mm velocities. It was not designed to perform at these levels and at least in ballistic gel tests ( tnoutdoors9) they appeared to be on the verge of collapse by they time they created their wound path. If penetration through bone occurred the hollow point would have likely failed.

Forgot to mention, make sure you load it with Buffalo Bore for innawoods. Lower grain loads aren't as good for the task.
