If you're strictly talking about firearms then he's probably the best one around.
Some of his designs hvae been outdated since, but many are still in use, and he layed the bases of modern firearms conception.

No.
But that's not to say there aren't people as equally genius as Browning when it comes to guns.
It's just when you invent a shitload of designs that have since proven to be some the best ways of doing a gun, it kinda snubs creativity.
It's basically asking someone reinvent the a car. if you want it to be successful, you'll always have an axle, a steering wheel, tires and some headlights. now for pretend for a moment that one man invented all of these thing. it's not that the people who design cars aren't as smart as the guy who invented these, it's just that it's really not easy to make a car without tires.

No, and we probably never will because don't design things like that anymore. Industry has advanced far enough since then that one designer can't mastermind the whole thing.
