What caliber did Bob Ross carry?
>>30161139
.40 Soft & White, for painting happy little clouds.
>>30161139
> .32 acp
> .380 acp
> .38 spl
> .357 mag
> .357 sig
he called them the happy little 3s
>>30161139
He had a little 25 acp tucked away in his afro
the tips were painted Prussian blue
>>30161139
He seems like a 38 special kind of guy to me.
I thought conceal carry rights/laws are a more recent phenomenon and the further back you go the less likely you would be allowed to carry? I mean where's the gif thing that explains what I'm trying to say.

>Ross enlisted in the United States Air Force at 18 years old and served as a medical records technician. He eventually rose to the rank of master sergeant and served as the first sergeant of the U.S. Air Force Clinic at Eielson Air Force Base in Alaska. Ross retired from the Air Force after 20 years of service, having the rank of Master Sergeant.
All memes aside, Ross was legit a service man from 1960 to 1980, so you could actually make a reasonable guess to what he actually carried. Not sure what Air Force boys had as standard issue.
>>30161821
not yellow ochre.
>>30161139
.45. That would have been the service pistol caliber while he was still in, so I think he'd stick with that.
>>30161959
M16s and 1911s were pretty much standard for everyone, although some Air Force officers had Colt 1903s.
>>30162019
Saved thanks

All of them

Some of the plane people, cargo plane crew or whatever I'm not in the service, were given .38 specials with various ammo. The first round was some kind of non-penetrating something because inna plane and then the rest were regular lethal ammo.
At least that's what some old as shit retired air force guy told me.
Probably some hand painted wood grip 1911, with the phrase "Happy Little Clouds For a Rainy Day" engraved on the slide.

brother.
>>30161959
Apparently he also did some time as an MTI and that's what led him to get out of the AF and become the super nice guy he was.
>>30161959
For medicalfags?
He probably fired an M16 once in basic and never touched a gun again.

Lol
>that twitch stream
>starting from the first season

You shut your goddamned mouth before i fold you in half, you piece of shit.
>>30168698
Why don't you put that folded half of pizza down, airhomo? You are tubbie enough.
Bob Ross vs. Mr. Rogers, CAGE MATCH. Who wins?
>>30168839
Mr. Rogers. Bob Ross may have been a TI in the air force, but the whole reason Mr. Rogers wore those cardigans was to cover up the tattoos he got when he was a sniper in the Marines.
>>30168839
No one. My childhood weeps.
>>30168839
>Implying they wouldn't join forces.

Holy shit. Hell yeah Bob Ross
>>30168993

>boring career as peacetime military E-7, his pension was less than a 16 year old's McDonald's income
That TV show was the only thing that saved him from dying in a fucking trailer park
>>30168904
That's actually a joke. I believed it too.

>thinking an e7 retirement is anything to scoff at
He definitely wasn't going to live off it, but military retirement is a nice chunk of change along side whatever civilian career a retiree has
>>30169105
1. No it isn't and its subject to whatever butthurt Congress undergoes on a yearly basis
2. Now you have to work an additional 20 years for real retirement.
Way to waste your time. You fought for that rank for an incredibly small amount of money. Even if you made it out as an E-9.
>>30169105
E-7 retires at 20 years, 50% of base pay immediately for the rest of life. On top of that, VA benefits for standard disability rates. Rates are based on highest single disability rate as an additional % of base pay. 20% hearing loss is 30% base pay, assuming folks forced records reviews to keep that up. Another common claim is back issues. Partially herniated disks are common in the MX fields, average is 50%.
VA rates give highest disability at full, then the second highest at half rate as an addition, and a third/fourth at further reduction. I only have the first couple levels memorized since I have still have time on the clock before retirement. But between just back and hearing loss I'm personally going to be pulling 50% base pay+75% base pay VA disability.
Essentially, 20 years of life, for 4700+/month after taxes for the rest of my life. Not the worst deal in the world, nevermind the current GI bill on top of that for 3-5 years.
>>30161139
he carried a titanium white deagle brand deagle
>>30169231
Conversely, at 38 years old a military retiree in 2016 is making $2200/month for the rest of their life. Most states that is ~$1800 after taxes, which is mortgage+car assuming you aren't in commifornia or a giant ass city.
>>30169237
>50% of base pay
Wow, $24,000 a year. Good job, E-7.
>But VA benefits if you get disability
Wow, you have to depend on the VA for the rest of your life, the worst provider available in the first world. Good call. Enjoy your early death from malpractice.
>>30169303
>That guy
What the fuck? He's got the legs of a 200 pound man, the torso of a 280 pound man, and the head of a 400 pound man. I've never seen someone like that before and I actually live in America. It's mesmerizing.
>>30169303
... Did I say anything about ANYTHING other than VA disability? Rates are defined at ETS. I was only covering VA disability rates. Average for AF in my region is 60 days for start of benefits. Which means two. TWO pay periods of $2200. Then the rest of the money shows up.
While my situation may suffer from regional or observational bias, there's a reason why I've attended numerous retirement ceremonies for 20-24 year E7s. I have, personally, seen the retirement checks. I have also seen the VA disability checks. The money IS real if you can suck enough dick for it.
Your situation may be different. Good for you, and I wish you the best. I hope that you can progress past the point your family brought you to, and do the same for your children.
I would like to hear what your alternatives are? How are you -personally- beating the poverty line and the 55+ retirement fixed income gap?
>>30167085
i seem to remember an article with him talking about that, something like he screamed and was such a psycho during his service time that when he retired he basically said hes never going to do it again.
