Holy motherfucking shit /k/.
What, in murderkube's name, am I doing wrong?! Why is that God damned space between the lower and the stock?
>PRS stock (I am 99.99% sure I got the .308 stock).
>A2 dpms buffer tube like you guys told me to get.
one thing for sure, I'm never doing a .308 build again. Fuck no
>>
>>30159913
Maybe that's just as close as it gets

You really think? Idk it doesn't seem right.
>>
>>30159913
There's a piece that goes in there. Idk what it's called but it's like a metal ring and sometimes you can get one with a sling loop on it. Pic related the description makes it seem like a good one for beginners if u know what I mean.

It would be cool to know what it's called.
Anybody?

>>30159971
Holy shit OP just charcoal the buffer tube then slide the stock on, grab a file and take some off of where the stock is touching the buffer tube, if you still have a problem report back
>>
>>30159913

>>>>/arg/
>>
>>30159979
That's to hold in the detent spring, you only use it if your using a telescoping stock with a castle nut, OPs stock will do the job of the castle plate for it

NO. I'll put it in layman's terms
Step 1. Grab piece of wood
Step 2. Light it on fire
Step 3. Hold buffer tube over fire until the whole thing is black from the smoke
Step 4. Put on your shitty overpriced stock
Step 5. Take stock off
Step 6. If you look at your buffer tube you will notice the stock has rubbed the charcoal off. It should have taken all the charcoal off, but I'm guessing by your problem it will only take off streaks of it on some of the sides
Step 7. If this is the case, take a file and wear down the inside of the stock hole thingy that slides over the buffer tube, only file down the charcoal parts, basically what you're doing is making the hole more flush with the buffer tube, be careful though, you don't want to file down too much to where your entire stock becomes rickety when it's on.
>>
>>30159913
even pupper is disappointed in you
>>
>>30160076
The problem isn't that it's getting stuck or jammed. It's going as far down as it'll go. The problem is that the stock literally cannot make contact with my lower
>>
>>30160157
>Remove stock from buffer tube
>Take a dowel rod or similar object
>Stick it down the stock till it stops
>Mark dowel rod or similar object at the top to show the depth
>Measure depth
>Compare to the length of buffer tube
>???
>Profit.
>>
>>30159913
Do you have the A2 buffer extension on the tube?
>>
>>30160284
Great except for the part where I still have (now 2) buffers and their tubes, and am no closer to figuring out which buffer tube I need.

There's got to be somebody on this board who has built an AR10 with a PRS stock
>>
>>30160317
I need the buffer tube to be shorter?
What good would an extension do?

Do you have a carbine buffer tube with the carbine buffer?
>>
>>30160387
No they are rifle length if I'm not mistaken.
Because I'm using a 20" barrel

Do you have the A2 buffer extension on the tube? Do you have the little piece that is 5/8" of an inch long that goes on the end of the buffer tube to make it the proper length to mount an A2 stock?
>>
>>30160396
Your buffer tube and your barrel length mean nothing to each other....
Bro just go get a carbine buffer tube that's your problem. But please for the love of God make sure you use a carbine buffer with it.
>>
>>30160399
No? I don't see how that makes sense if I need a shorter buffer?
>>
>>30160381
There are these things called "wimmins." They like to look at magazines like that. They also do fun things to your cawk. You should try meeting one sometime.
>>
>>30159913
Two questions for you...

1) Are you using an A1 tube plus an A2 stock spacer?
>It would appear so, based on the size of the gap between receiver & stock.
2) Are you using a nonstandard buffer tube?
>Not all 308 receiver extension tubes are the same.
>>
>>30159913
You mixed commercial and mil specs.
>Thread
>>
>>30160423
Well if you don't have the little extension and it's still too long I don't know what to tell you, PRS's work with rifle length buffer tubes.

>>30160539
Why don't you remove the stock and measure the length of the buffer tube?
>>
just send me all those aggravating .308 parts magazines and ammo and not worry your pretty little head about it any more... problem solved
>>
>>30159913
Is the buffer tube screwed in all the way to the detent inside the threads, where the detent that holds the buffer goes?

Is that DPMS spec buffer tube compatible with your Armalite (if I remember correctly) lower?

Also, is the person on the cover of that Vogue a man or a woman?
>>
>>30160709
I think I fixed it.
1. Yes
2. Dpms lower, should be compatible
3. Some swedish bitch named Alicia vikander. She was apparently the AI in Ex Machina

At this point, I might
>>
>>30160709
I have an Armalite lower with a DPMS A2 stock kit on it. Works just fine. The whole kit works just fine for me (though the A2 stock adds about 1" of LOP over a regular AR-15 with an A2 stock). I have a DPMS spring & rifle buffer do not impede function either. (The rifle is all Armalite except for the buffer assembly & stock.)

>though the A2 stock adds about 1" of LOP over a regular AR-15 with an A2 stock).
Shit, never thought of that. No wonder mine feels so fucking long. In pic under the 5.56.
>>
when and if you figure this out, don't forget to properly time your buffer tube.
>>
>>30160861
? Please explain
>>
>>30160835
The LOP comes from the increased dimensions of the receiver. Yes, it feels long. While it looks and controls like an AR-15, my AR-10's and AR-15's have a rather different feel to them, mainly because of the longer LOP but equal eye relief. The nose-to-the-CH method doesn't work, either, for 308's. They have too much recoil for that to be a good method. I'm tempted to custom-design a side-charging 308 upper with a reduced rail (so that an AR-15 LOP can be reproduced on an AR-10 or LR-308).
>>
Get a lower end plate before you start filing at your stock. Typically there is that much space with out lower receiver end plate
>>
>>30159913
i have the prs on a 5.56 but im using an A1 buffer tube.. i dont know if the .308 needs the A2 but i believe the A1 is shorter.. might be the fix
