The Auto 5 is sold and I've got a 1P63 Obzor on the SLR104.
I've really been getting the itch to pick up a PTR91 and a Walther P1 and act out my Cold War West German military fantasies but I don't need another autoloading .308 when I don't even really shoot my FAL as much as I'd like to.

It's fantastic. It's one of the top three most fun guns I've ever owned. Trigger is pretty bad and they're expensive for what they are (buy used and save) but aside from those it really is great.

Just bought a Ruger Precision Rifle in 6.5 Creedmoor, waiting for it to be delivered to my local FFL. I'm hoping it'll be here tomorrow, since it's on the truck to my home state tonight, but I'm not holding out much hope. Does UPS deliver on Saturdays?

I found it after Katrina rusted solid in a shoe box in a garage. The slide release only recently fell off. Doesn't cycle properly but the more I shoot it the smoother it gets.

It's indeed a shame you can't easily get them, but they're also "just" a carbine. They're not magical.
I wouldn't feel bad taking one into battle obviously, but I'd say there's still significant room for improvement.

I think it's fine. I've really not got much to compare it to though. a 2-7x 32mm scope on the mini 14 and a 3-9x 40mm on the sporterized m1903. of course those would be darker at the higher zoom in low light, but the ultralight is a fixed 2.5x so it's not been a problem

Didn't even see that 1100. Mine is the 20" barrel with rifle sights and tube extension. I have a 30" vent rib full choke barrel for it as well, but it is a few hours away in the safe. Beautiful gun though, what year is it?
