Dad has an old gun in what I think is actually .450 Adams my great grandfather bought over from Hungary to defend the family with.

.45 LC rims are too thick and it won't chamber even with trimming the case so .455 is the closest to the .031 rim of the original cartridge. Completely disappeared some how with all places showing it out of stock and not planning to order more in the near future.

>>30161545
Are they decent quality? I know the harbor freight near me sells plastic ones like you have on top of your safe there. Are those worth it or should I just buy metal ones? I have to go there this weekend to buy punches for my AR build anyway.
>>
>>30161542
Gunshows or mass purchasing with friends help mitigate fees
>>
>>30161555
Go for the metal ones. Metal, military rectangles.
The plastic ones are always tapered at the bottom and you can't stack boxes as well.
>>
>>30161555
The plastic ones are handy for all kinds of shit especially at $3-4 each

If you plan on filling them up, buy steel ones.
My boss had the handle break off a plastic one fully loaded with 45acp & it damaged his floor... don't know what brand his was though

9 mm: 1100 rounds
5.56: 700 rounds
.22: 4250 rounds
.17 HMR: 500 rounds

Also 4 pmags and 14 aluminum mags, though a bunch of the aluminum ones are for sale for about $25 each when Hillary gets elected. Also, before someone complains about hoarding .22, it's plentiful and about $0.06 a round here in Texas. I buy a brick every week or two from the local Academy.

>tfw no /k/ friends to do a group buy with
I don't understand the fucking logic of the regulations given how bullets are completely fine below 40 lbs yet loose powder and primers are now IEDs in all but name. Bureaucrats are the lowest lifeform.
>>
>>30161568
Alright. Theres a gander mountain in the parking lot over, I'll try there.

Too bad ammo is so much cheaper online, I would love to just pick up a bunch of ammo while I'm there.

>>30161583
I'd rather buy once cry once and be able to fill them than only be able to use half the space, so I guess metal it is.

>>30161588

>>
>>30161601

>>
>>30161588
Pretty sure that's so as to not make it easy for folks like us, so it's just too expensive,
It may even be due to lobbying on behalf of the cartridge companies, god know, but I agree it's retarded
>>
>>30161440
10/10 would cherish
>>
>>30161601
But I do use the plastic ones to put reloading boxes in of up to 150 .223s for my matches (not loose filling all the space)
I also use them for stupid shit like keeping my shoe shine kit tidied up, my wife keeps her medicine in one & her cosmetics in a pink one...
I also have them all over the garage.

I do carry my lunch in a .50 cal tin though
>>
>>30161662
Not to get too off target, but how much do you save per round reloading 5.56? Or do you just do it for better accuracy?

Just for match quality ammo mainly
I do watch out for deals though, anytime match bullets that I use go on sale over the winter, I stock up. I also buy blemished bullets & discontinued lines if I know they have a good rating. Haven't paid retail prices for years, usually buying 500-2000 at a time, so I can batch (weigh them to .1 gr) them and dial them in to my rifles.
Can get sub moa off of a bench.

Here is a match target from a while back, usually can shoot 97+ prone slow fire at 100, usually clean a 200yrd target
>>
>>30161448
no 7.62x39 or 223/556?

No "assault" rifle?
>>
>>30161699
Basically when reloading brass I already own I'm getting about
12-18 cents for projectile
Probably 250 or rounds for 1lb of varget
$3 or so per hundred primers

So match quality ammo at 30 cents each or so - more when I'm buying brass, but I get usually 10-12 reloadings sometimes more in .223

>>30162268
You don't need that much velocity for defense. Especially with 10z pieces of lead gonig as fast as 9mm.
>>
This thread made me dump $300 on 54r and mak food.
I also put in an order for a bulgarian mak today so we'll see if that goes through alright. if not then i've got 500 rounds of 9mm mak and nothing to use it.
tomorrow i might dump some more cash on another 1000 rnds of fiocci 9mm but that might give my wallet a heart attack.

is buying bulk reloads (specifically 9mm) a bad idea? i dont reload myself so i dont care if the cases are used or not.

357 mag- 2,500

500 s&w mag- 250
12 ga 400/300 bird/slug

ready to load primed brass-10,000pcs
Primers- 34,000
Gunpowder- 48lb

seems like a lot but it's just my 6 year hedge against shortages. I shoot what I have loaded up in about 18 months.
