you need to consider the average range of engagement, as the distance effects how the human eye perceives color. additionally you need to accommodate for multiple light conditions, time of day, and pick the best over all.

That's right. You've got to take into account the average kommandos 72 hour patrol ops and the fact that you're under constant withering enemy fire from all distances and directions.
No you fat autist, the average kommando will be using it for their camping adventure playtime in the woods or airsoft/paintball match. As the years have passed, carriers have become more minimalist, and expose the underneath moisture-wicking material. The older, original carriers covered much more of the non-patterned material.

I guess, maybe, but that only really applies when you're innafield actually in combat, which isn't that common in militaries that aren't the US and maybe the UK/Germany/european countries with smaller peacekeeping forces.
I've never met a soldier who wouldn't want to wear their PC while fighting/in danger.
It's already common practice to just wear a UBACS as a field shirt w/o a PC, I don't know whey they even still use some sort of light field jacket in modern militaries.
