Funny story actually
I used to be a generic liberal anti gun regressive left fag until we had a debate unit in class.
My group got the topic of gun rights, and we had to argue in favor of guns.
I was dreading having to do this, but as i did the research, i slowly came to completely flip my opinion on the matter.
I can only thank luck for putting me on that side of the debate.

At like 8 years old when I shot my first 22 into a trash pit out on a farm, just broke up a bunch of glass items etc etc.
When I was 9 and my country had a referendum on gun control was the first time I was exposed to gun control debate. My grandfather campaigned against it in his city and a few years later he bought me an air rifle.

I've been around guns my whole life, so they were never really any kind of mysterious fascinating thing.
My father, my grandfather, my uncles, cousins, etc and I went hunting regularly (deer, turkey, and duck mostly). My father believed that keeping my safe around guns meant keeping me informed so I always had access to them, thus I was less likely to try and play with them when dad wasn't around.
Around the time I was in college and subsequently dropped out of college, I couldn't find a job or a girlfriend, and my whole life was basically a shit-pit, I started going to the shooting range out of boredom. (This is all pre-Obama, so ammo was cheap.)
Eventually I found a group of fine gentlemen who had similar interests in firearms and they welcomed me into their group with open arms. Since then, I don't think a single day has passed where I haven't gone shooting, performed maintenance on a firearm, or had a long discussion (in person or online) about guns or gun rights.

To be honest I always liked swords and other medieval weapons because of D&D and other fantasy and scifi games, but Idiana jones made me want a revolver, even though I had seen cowboy movies before and those dod not spark my interest.

When you are happy you have receptors in your brain(I think) that feed on these chemicals, and everything is fine, but when you're depressed, it's a chemical imbalance in the brain where you aren't releasing enough of these chemicals. When you the chemical releasing is lowered, the brain drops the number of receptors because they aren't being used. So that's why you feel depressed, and even after you aren't depressed anymore, it takes a long time for those receptors to start up again. I'm pretty sure I explained things wrong but the way he explained it made sense
