here's the thing,about this eotech shit. Atmospherics have an effect on your zero. the rule is for every 10 degree increase you can expect a 1 MOA increase in above your zero. That's with any optic. now if eotechs thermal drift bullshit has an effect on windage then yeah it needs to go in the trash. But I have never seen an eotech do that or suffer these problems. The only eotech i have seen fail had a house brought down on it after it was leveled with 10,000 lbs of explosives.
Eotechs aren't bad, but they aren't great. I have used them for years in and out of the military. I have never seen any of the various models I have used(from the 552, 557, and XPS). The biggest bitches I have are the damn reticule and those fucking buttons.
The reticule while it may seem like a cool idea is anything but cool after a while and once you put a magnifier on it it looks like pixelated shit.
There are better options for the price.
