Military was scrapped because of shit-tier viewership, and all five of the big MSO's didn't want to spend the money on it (something like $0.22 per subscriber.) So Discovery scraps it, renames it Discover America, and puts on a bunch of shows that actually do have viewership. Then they launch "American Heros" or whatever it is at a reduced price ($0.02/subscriber) and it's back on the air.

Out of "fast" battleships only 2 classes didn't had some enormously obvious flaws - like Yamato and its FCS or KGV/Vanguard and their outdated armament caused by cost savings.
Richelieu and Iowa. While Richelieu is probably closer to what would "future" BB's look like if they'd still develop them, Iowa was more conventional design and sported more powerful main armament.
Then again Richelieu didn't saw even fraction of action Iowa did.
