The logistics of a modern conventional invasion of Scotland would probably be pretty interesting, assuming some braveheart types were hiding in rural areas. The nature of Devolution makes it next to impossible to enact genuinely left-wing policies. It enforces an administrative style of government similar to Blairism.
While free tuition and such are left-wing the SNP's general governing style has been one from the centre, both out of ideology and out of pragmatism. Even during the referendum "Muh Childcare if you vote Yes" was about as best they got. It's hardly the communist manifesto.
It's quite amusing that the worst enemies of Scottish nationalists have for hundreds of years been Scots. From the Highland Clearances to the "Proud Scots" who fled to London as soon as they could decrying the SNP as tartan Tories in one opinion piece while decrying Corbyn and pining for Blair in another.
The greatest assets to Scottish nationalism have hilariously probably been English.
