Think about it, instead of buying a retarded, proprietary upper receiver for $300 you could save $200 buy buying a standard forged upper. Rather than paying $300 for a crappy stock, you could get a standard stock and buffer tube for about $75. You could then use this money + the money you would've been using for a crappy red dot to get the Leupold optic you want without having to wait. Rather than get BUIS, you could even throw it some extra money and get a better optic or better mount, because BUIS really don't matter in any way, shape, or form.
Have you ever actually held a rifle with a UBR stock on it? How about fired it? I've helped a few friends build rifles with UBR stocks and they all swapped that shit out in six months. They're overweight, overpriced garbage that people look at, think "ooh pretty", then drop once they realize they have a proprietary buffer tube, a heavy stock, a shitty cheekpiece that doesn't retract with the stock and eats up facial hair, and absolutely nothing in terms of storage capability.

It's not an excuse, it's an objective downside to a side charging receiver. You do nothing but remove an ambidextrous feature, you have to redo muscle memory with a new charging handle, and you're paying extra for a feature you rarely use anyway and that new feature requires non-standard parts in the event of a failure. They're downsides no matter how you spin it, regardless of whether or not you want to admit it.
Apparently you don't seem to understand the low resale value of shit parts like side charging uppers or the amount of time resale takes. I seriously hope you hate it and end up sitting on it for two years crying about your stupid decision to buy a UBR and a side charging upper rather than putting your money on something that'll net you better performance, like a scope and a good mount.
