Legitimately interested as to why this is a bad idea. I usually just bring a tarp for the ground and trust my clothing to do the job of a sleeping bag. Sometimes I don't use the tarp.

When I camp while back country snowboarding I always sleep in the first layer of my gear with only the ging out my socks so the ones I used the previous day will dry. Can confirm, I've only ever been cold in a good sleeping bag with clothes on regardless of temperature. Strip down as naked as you can and a good sleeping bag will be comfy in any weather. It's perfectly okay to jam whatever you'll wear in the morning into the bottom of the bag so it's also warm for getting dressed in the morning.

Ex Canadian Forces here.... only sleep with boxers and t-shirt, because you will heat up and the sweet/ moister off your body will be absorbed by your clothing and you will freeze when you get out of your back... The best thing to do if you are using multi layer bags for older seasons, but your next to skin clothing in between the closet layers to you, so your body heat will keep them warm so its not as cold to put on in the morning.

No. Your body heat is released faster into the bag itself if you're not wearing clothing. You'll certainly be warmer initially, but through the night you will slowly lose the heat contained by the bag.
