I got 12 hours of sleep (6 per night) on the trip and made up the time by driving like a bat out of hell. Unfamiliar mountain highways in Montana, Idaho, and Washington that sleep deprived would almost certainly have killed me.

Walked really off trail in muh state park. Used to be a base in WWII. Beat out into the bush looking for bunkers and shit. Can say I found bunkers and shit. All but one was sealed. I don't have pics at the ready.

Like most states you cannot purchase a handgun out of state other than to have it shipped to a home state FFL. If you don't have a residence in your previous state, but aren't yet legally a resident of WA you are kind of SOL there for the time being.
Long guns are free game for adults like you'd expect but if there's a mismatch between your ID card address and whatever NICS pulls from you may run into issues.
>For long gun purchases, such as a rifle or shotgun, you must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid US driver’s license from any state. You must pass a federal background check, and you must be a US citizen. For an immigrant alien you need to provide proof of residence of a minimum of 90 days. Non-immigrant aliens must also provide 90 days proof of residence and a hunting license (or any other equal form of Federal exemption). There is no mandatory waiting period necessary for long guns, unless the NICS put a delay on your purchase.

Took my gf to the range and had a great time. She just got an old model 10 from her grandma. It was her grandfather's gun and she really loves it. Great shooter too

Op here. It is an elite iron suppressor wrap.
It is a must if your using a optic with a suppressed centerfire rifle. With out it, at 15x after 10-15 shota the heat waves comeing off thw can make it near impossible to use the scope.
That wrap has a layer of carbon and nomex and keeps the waves from being a problem.
The down side is if your going crazy you can ruin them ( they have a limit to the heat the wraps material can stand)
And they keep tour can hotter for longer as it acta like an insulator and slows the dissipation of the cans heat.
