How could one make swords viable again in modern warfare?
Could there be added some form of technology that could make the sharp piece of metal more useful than guns?
If they could be used to deflect bullets like in my mongolian cartoons that would be something.

Well the only good solution I've come up with is strapping an OTF double action dagger blade to a custom forearm gauntlet for project SARIS. but that's for CQC fighting and that's last option it weighs next to nothing and if some ones on top of me a quick thumb flick and a 4 inch dagger blade threw the skull or throat fixes problem.

Then you have to make them be able to attach to the main weapon to increase your reach and force with the blade, also so that you can quickly go stabby stabby when your main weapon wont go tooty tooty.

"The forever war" by Joe Haldeman has an interesting invention dealing with melee weapons suddenly becoming viable again.
They basically invent some sort of stasis field that caps movement speed of matter to 16.3 m/s, so you activate the field and start bashing your enemies heads in the old timey way.

No. Never. The only bladed weapons that will ever see action is either a knife, or MAYBE a machete. And that's only because those are functional tools, and only used as a weapon in a last resort scenario. So improve upon those as best you can, and even then, they're so simple that there's only so much improvement you can make.
