Why are revolvers so expensive when it's just several small moving parts inside slabs of steel?

Much harder to produce than a semi mainly. Not to mention there are loads of shitty semis, but not nearly as much shitty revolvers (still a fuck ton of shitty ones, but nowhere near as much)

Why are 1911s so expensive when it's just several small moving parts inside slabs of steel?
Why are SIGs so expensive when it's just several small moving parts inside slabs of aluminum?
Why are HKs so expensive when it's just several small moving parts inside slabs of plastic?

why are cars so expensive when it's just four wheels on a frame with a plastic box on top?

why are airplanes so expensive when it's a tube with some flaps and levers?

>>30110334
you need smiths to assemble them properly

Same reason why every other gun is so fucking expensive.
Because they (gun manufacturers) can.

Why are child prostitutes so expensive when they're just smaller, more stupid versions of regular prostitutes?

>smiths
Funny way to say "illegal spic factory workers"

Because there's no demand for a revolver that's as shitty as a hi-point. People who want cheap, shitty guns want them for utilitarian reasons, and therefore want an automatic.

Revolvers also inherently need more tight tolerances in their design than autos do, and tightening tolerances is one of the most expensive things to do in a production line.

Wait why do revolvers need tight tolerances? I thought all of them spew out gasses from the cylinder
>>
>>30110620
The gap that the gasses come out of needs to be very small, but not zero. If it's zero, the cylinder is grinding and that prevents rotation. If it's too big, too much gas will be vented and the bullet will loose velocity.

Also, you need tolerances on the ratchets and stops involved in rotating the cylinder. It needs to slide into place without any resistance, and yet lock up tightly enough that the cylinder can't be moved at all when the gun is fully cocked. If there is any looseness here the barrel could become misaligned from the cylinder and the bullet may not be able to transfer in once piece, or could fail to escape the cylinder entirely.

Best case: hot lead comes flying out of the gap and your shot is stupidly inaccurate.

Worst case: you have to learn how to pick your nose with hooks for hands.

Airplanes not that expensive family

illegal spics can still be smiths anon

Kraut magic anon. You need to know that enchantments increase an item's price.
