Help me decide on a new gun before hillary gets in (I dont want to fear monger, however I would like a new rifle before panic prices kick in).

>MR762
>SR25
>SCAR 17s
>Tavor
>AUG

I would prefer something in 762 however I could buy both a AUG and Tavor for the price or a MR762 or SR25. What would /k/ do?
>>
It's ludicrously unlikely that Hillary will ban the M1A (tens of millions of fudds and namaboos would seige the whitehouse and hang her from the ceiling by her cankles) so you will continue to have 7.62 NATO options. Get the SCAR or some other scary looking rifle in 5.56.
>>
>>30107351
It's a semi-auto rifle, she'll definitely try to have it banned, especially since it's an assault sniper hunter pistol in 7.62 baby cop slayer.
>>
>>30107351
/k/ is the worst board about suggesting random shit for people.

>ask about X, Y, Z
>BUY Q INSTEAD ITS BETTER
>>
>>30107425
The AUG, Tavor, and SCAR all come in 5.56.
>>
>>30107440
OP literally singled out the 17s which is in 762.
>>
>>30107351
No, no fudds or namaboos will do shit ever. They'll moan and groan online in their preaching-to-the-choir gun forums so they can be patted on their backs, but they'll never risk losing their big screen TVs and jacked up pickups trucks over gun rights.

Just like idiot Californians, who put up with the up idiotic restrictions ever dreamed up, because they refuse to move.
>>
MR762 a shit
>>
>>30107731

MR762 is perfectly suited to its intended role. And this is coming from a SCARfag.
>>
>>30107760
Still not worth the price tag
>>
>>30107810

Worth is entirely subjective. You're just a poorfag.
>>
>>30107760
Fellow SCARfag here, and I agree
MR762 is fine. Perhaps one of the few non shit piston ARs.

That said the reverse shelfmod is odd at best, should have gone mlok. But HK loves proprietary shit.
>>
>>30107858
OP here, I do find this particular stupid, however I personally plan on throwing on a Atlas bipod and an Optic and I will consider the rifle done. I am not one to get into tacticooling out a rifle.

If the rumors are true, we should be seeing the A3's come to the states in a few years. When that happens you can bet I'll pick one up along with a 416 to go with it.
>>
>>30107900
>few years

Chances are semis will be illegal by then
>>
>>30107976

That, or GOD EMPEROR TRUMP will lift the import ban. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
>>
>>30107873
Just keep in mind the other option is build an AR-10.

You could put a 6.5 creedmoor barrel on it, have a real long range blaster.

I'm in the process of building an AR10 it's just I'd like to grab another high end factory rifle.

Answer is simple
>>
>>30107537
>idiot calis not doing anything
It seems like everybody says this until it's their turn to bat. I'm a 21 year old kid living in this commiefuck state and I want more than anything to keep my rights.
But fuck if I know how to organize a protest, much less the god damn resistance. I'm too young to be a martyr for people who hate me.
>>
>>30107330
Never shot the AUG, but have put a few hundred rounds through the Tavor and wasn't impressed. "It's a bullpup" is about the only thing it has going for it, unless you just want something made in Israel.

Get the SCAR.
>>
>>30108282
I handled a AUG today at a gunshow and I really liked the way it felt. My friend also has a Tavor and while i am not amazed with it, I do think it is a good solid rifle overall.
>>
>>30108220
The majority of people keep electing these fuckwits, so you have two choices. Either use your guns to start a gun-owner pride movement like the fags did to get everyone used to them, or use your guns to assassinate the authors and sponsors of these bills.
>>
>>30108327
it's like you didn't even read the post you're replying to.
Both of those things I simply cannot do. A kid cannot lead an unpopular movement nor an untrained army unless he has a death wish.
Neither would be taken seriously, and I have never even been a follower much less a leader.
>>
>>30108282
Scar is less accurate than mr762 or sr25
>>
>>30108475

It's on par with chrome lined KAC's. Any other comparison is apples to oranges.
>>
>>30108525
My chromelined SR-25 is more accurate than my SCAR.
>>
>>30108539
And a mr762 is more accurate than that
>>
>>30107330
Op it entirely depends on the way you want to use the rifles. Are you looking for a long range rifle with great MOA or a battle rifle?
>>
>>30108553
IDK, I have never used an MR762. I know it won the contract but I wonder if that was solely based on accuracy or other factors as well. I think HK guaranteed them for ~1 MOA. My SR-25 holds around .6-.7 until it heats up.
>>
>>30108567
>I wonder if that was solely based on accuracy or other factors as well

The CSASS requirement seemed to be written for handing the contract directly to KAC. Says a lot that they weren't even selected for the final round of evaluation.
>>
>>30108590
I know, I wonder if the results would ever be released. Surprised the HK beat out both KAC and FN.
>>
>>30108600
From what I have read most people report consistent .75MOA with their mr762.

>>
>>30107330
If i had the money I would buy a SCAR 17s.
I have a pair of ar15 and I plan on building a ar10/lr308. But that is only because I like building guns. If I just wanted something off the shelf then it would be a SCAR. Not that I think buying any of them is stupid but I personally feel that the Tavor is too expensive for what it is and the AUG has always looked ugly to me. the MR762 and the SR25 are cool but i would rather build my own.
TL:DR; one vote for SCAR
>>
>>30109932
You can legally get semi auto shotguns, just takes fucking ages and you essentially have to be a farmer or work in that field

Do these take proprietary mags, or are they compatible with other AR-10 pattern mags?
>>
>>30118981
Proprietary unless they've changed their business model (doubt it).
>>
>>30118981
You mean are they KAC pattern mags, not AR-10 pattern mags.
>>
>>30107330
I felt the Tavor was underwhelming for what it offered. I don't have any interest in owning an MR762, but my favorite AR10 style firearm is the LMT MWS. The original model is a little heavy but their newest version cuts down on weight a little. I own two of them and I love them, they're a little less pricy than a KAC or HK, but not by much.
That said, my SCAR with a Handl lower for SR-25 pattern magazines and KDG/ACR stock is my go-to rifle, relatively lightweight and comfortable to shoot.
>>
>>30109932
She won't get jack shit passed on a federal level, even King Obongo couldn't get shit passed, and he's actually a likable person to some people. Shill-dog is a whiny cunt that basically nobody likes, but has a chance of sliming her way in because of her last name, her gender, and her connections. Tl;dr: nothing will happen except in the states that already suck.
>>
>>30112902
>I swear KAC is the most overrated fucking company on the planet.

They pretty much are. They do have decent designs, but their quality control sucks. My buddy was an E7 GM in the Navy, worked in a NSW armory and said they rejected on average 1/3 of the stuff KAC sent them. He was not impressed with them, and said they were dicks whenever he tried to contact them with issues.
>>
>>30119121
Whats innovative? Literally their only weapon offering is a souped-up AR10 that they cant really justify the price on. AND it just got beat out by the HK.

>>30119057
Why no interest in the MR762?
>>
>>30119010
Yes, SR-25/DPMS/Pmag pattern. I think the old AR-10 pattern is pretty much dead now.

Their bolt design, and gas tube designs are pretty neat.
>>
>>30119213
That is pretty neat... Too bad it needs a proprietary profile.
>>
>>30119213
>>30119213
So its basically as fucktardley proprietary as the HK yet it doesn't even offer a new gas system? Are KAC turbo-jews?
>>
>>30119272
Define new. There is really nothing wrong at all with the Stoner DI system, and HK's G-36 style system is a direct adaptation of Stoner's AR-18 gas system.
>>
>>30119163
Nothing against the MR762 really, one of the things that burns me is the unique magazines when there is already a good market of reliable SR-25 pattern magazines out there.
I can kit out quite a few guns with good quality scopes and extra magazines/ammo for the price of the base MR762, which doesn't really bring any earth-shattering innovations to the table.
>>
>>30119337
I'm not saying there is anything wrong with the AR10, but whats the point in making so much of their ar10 proprietary? At least with the HK417 you have a new gas system (well new on a AR style rifle) in place so they can kinda-sorta rationalize their proprietary parts.
>>
>>30119369
There are probably some very valid engineering reasons HK and KAC use proprietary designs over the standard AR-10 design. They very likely feel their designs are improvements.
And then there is the marketing side of it. Whenever you need a replacement part, you have to source it from HK or KAC.

7.62 NATO energy does. Talk to people who kill people for living, they'll explain this to you in graphic details.
