I think pistol grips on any long gun that doesn't also have a detachable magazine, which extends down at least as far as the grip, are dog ugly.
I.e. pistol grip mossy 500s look like shit but saigas are sexy. That's just like, my opinion, though.
The only kind of shotgun I like is about two feet in length or less.
I don't find stocks useful on shotguns. I can point shoot better than most people can bead shoot. Every bird I've killed has been a point shot, and no bird I've shot has got away. I learned to shoot clays without using the bead because I'm a retard.

Stocks are useful for shooting slugs up to 100 yards, but I think slug guns are dumb. If I need to shoot solid projectiles at things far away then I have a .338
In general I like high capacity firearms. If someone invented a shotgun with detachable high cap mags that could be left loaded for years without deforming the shells I would buy it, then make it short enough that people wonder if I'm breaking any laws.
I do find it funny how many people buy pistol grip only shotguns then sell them after the first shoot.

I'm not sure that the hulls won't still deform, the diameter is large and a strong spring is needed to properly cycle heavy loads. I think a different magazine design would be necessary.
I like double tubes, and I'd like to see a double tube shotgun with detachable tubes

I don't know if the internet at large dislikes them, but in 3gun/IPSC shotgun/other shotgun action shooting sports, the pistol grip gets in the way of modern twin/quad loading techniques for no real benefit. No reason to skip the pistol grip if you're shooting anything with a detachable box mag in open though.
And clay shooting sports are still really conservative/fuddy.

I'm no expert on NY legalities, but one thing I can tell you with certainty none of these mag fed pumps can still use the tube.

You can be just as fast with one as the other when it really comes down to it. But for the most part its inferior so there is no real reason to use it. It mainly appeals to tactical timmys.
Its like increasing your bore axis on a pistol for no reason, the pistol grip puts the strong hand in a position where it cant do as much to manage recoil as a traditional stock, and it make sthe shotgun awkward to manipulate.
Again, there are people who use both well, but in general the worlds fastest shotgunners are using traditional stocks.

Do you really feel an advantage from irons on the shotgun?
I doubt your putting slugs out to 200 yards regularly and you can find plenty of people shooting slugs out to 100 yards with just a bead.
It must certainly be quite a lot slower to get a sight picture through iron sights than with a bead.

There is actually of hickock 45 shooting a mossberg 590 and wilson combat 870 with iron sights and he claims to love both but he is noticeably slower shooting the 870 in the video and not appreciably more accurate with either gun.

The rounds counts are really high in clay games and the repeated high impulse, low rate recoil through the pistol grip into you hand becomes extremely uncomfortable, to the point of being making it difficult to use hand afterwards. A more traditional stock transfers more recoil directly to the shoulder. Fuddy or not, the clay games are competitive enough that if it worked, people would be grafting wood pistol grips onto their B-guns.
