Is this the best $1,000 "combat" handgun on the market currently?
What are the pros? Cons?
It's taken me about six months to save the money so I don't want to end up with a piece of junk.

Other than that it's a huge gun you can attach shit to to look leet af, has a nice trigger, recoils softly, and the raised supressor sights are quick to pick up and is very accurate. There are other .45 acp handguns cheaper with the same capacity though so I don't know why people make a big deal of that. They do it without derp looking magazines too.

It's nice but you could have pretty much the same thing for half the price of you just get a glock21 with the cut slide and extended base plates for the mags. Then put high rise tritium signs on it and a threaded barrel if you really want to use a suppressor. All told it will be much cheaper.
If it took you that long to save up a thousand dollars I doubt buying a suppressor would be a fiscally responsible move but then again neither would be buying a $1600 dollar plus tax suppressor platform, you know that red dot sight is another 600$ right?

The FNX45T is an amazing handgun.
Just buy a 10mm glock mos and an extra threaded barrel and some better nightsights
the fnx nightsights arent even made by trijicon anymore. they are generic pos with no markings
Also the magazine retention is a small little protruding piece of metal that will most likely get sheared off with any hard use

The newer models have the Trijicon markings on the bottom of the sight. It can't be seen unless you push the sights off. They're stil Trijicon.

Yes you should. Shooting it suppressed is very pleasant.
I've thought about putting an RMR and light on mine, but I'm trying not to weigh it down too much. I can shoot the factory night sights very well, so I didn't see the need for the RMR (not to mention the cost), and am still debating the light. The tan/fde Inforce WML looks pretty good on them.

Glock 21. MOS version is in the pipe per Glock, a little patience and it will hit and have red dot compatibility.
13 round capacity, proven track record, every accessory under the sun is made for it, plenty of holster selection, parts are plentiful, mags are like $20, gun is cheaper.
It may not look sexiest, but its hard to beat for practicality. I was issued one by my agency, have out thousands of rounds through it in all kinds of conditions, rain, dirt, snow, hot and cold, etc. No rust, no appreciable wear, never a single malfunction, very accurate. Couldn't ask for more out of a duty gun.

Pretty sure that when running suppressed, the .45ACP performs better in terms of terminal ballistics than a heavy & slow 9x19, simply because it was designed as a subsonic round.

a lot of the criticism is right. the grip sucks. SA trigger is meh. DA is horrible. optic mount placement is questionable (especially with a suppressor). i sold mine for what i paid and got a glock 41 instead. i installed a 5# striker spring (it already had a 3.5# connector), got the slide milled and put the RMR on. even if i got a threaded barrel it would cost less than the FN.

2 rounds is minimal, especially considering the fnx doesnt magically contain more ammo in less space. Those tumor mags cost more than 27 rounders before you even get into base plates or kriss mags.if the 9mm and the 45T had the same may/grip size it would half 19-22 rounds ffs.

I had one. Nice gun. Accurate and ergonomics were good for me but I have pretty big hands.
I sold it to finance some other project and ended up getting one of these later. Does literally the same thing but costs $400.

Yes, you don't really get a lot of glass real estate with an RMR or similar MRDS. If you're aligning the sights perfectly it doesn't really matter, but if you're doing that then you're not really utilizing the dot to begin with. I think I've got a picture here somewhere.
