My first upper just came and I'm having a hard time telling whether the barrel is fully seated or not. I can't feel any sort of "click" to tell if the alignment pin is in the slot or not. Its an aero precision upper and BA barrel. Pic related. Are the feed ramps on the barrel supposed to be flush with the ones on the upper?

I want to replace the handguard with pic related, a GNV Generalism RIS 6.7 inch handguard.
I know next to nothing about this rifle, and have 2 questions:
1. Is this a good choice for a replacement hand guard, or is there something at a similar price I could pick?
2. How does this attach to the rifle? It doesn't look like it has any extending parts that would fit in under the delta ring, nor the part further down the barrel (that I'm not too proud to admit I don't know what it's called) that the front of the current hand guard rests in.
Help me out please, /arg/
Also anything else you wanna throw in about this particular rifle or AR15s in general? As I said, I know next to nothing about this gun. I'm more into hand guns but I'm excited about this.
