What's your genuine opinion on Sig primarily the P22X series?
>good quality
>nice decocker and triggers
>newer models are grossly overpriced
>cannot into conceal carry market
>>
The classic models are great, not a fan of their newer stuff though. Always wanted a P226R in 9mm or a P228.

They are way over priced though, I'm an HK guy and they are often times out of my range. 700 bucks for a used one is nuts.

I agree. Only newer Sigs I'd consider on getting would be a P239 and a Legion P229.
>>
>>30093022

They are great for boat anchors and the comically high bore axis means there is plenty of slide to grip when you're clearing malfunctions.
>>
>>30093253
Pretty much, I also dont understand how glocks get shit on for feeling like bricks in the hand but never sigs, I own a 92fs with fat rubber hogue grips and the slimmest grip I could find for the p226 I owned was EVEN FATTER THAN THAT.

I can only imagine that people who own sigs just like to look and play with them and not actually shoot the fucking things.

I do like the triggers though.
>>
question.
are all sig sauers made in murrica now?
or do they still make european sigs in europe?
>>
>>30093022

P938 my most recent purchase. I absolutely love it. looks beautiful, accurate, reliable. I've fed it all sorts of bullshit ammo and it throws all of it. It's snappy, but I'm getting used to it. my first gun when I was a teenager was a 1911, so I feel comfortable with it. mags are way overpriced though.
>>
I own an SP2022, and a P220 in 10mm. They're both fantastic guns.
The P220 is snappy, but not as much as my G20 was. The steel frame really absorbs a lot of the felt recoil.
>>30093306
Probably because a Glock, while fat, also has shit tier ergonomics. A Sig double stack design is still bulky, but it has fantastic ergos.

I'm not a fan of aluminum or plastic frames, double action, decockers, or fat double stack grips. even so it's a good time to be a SIG fan since all of that is optional with their current selection.
I'm glad they're bringing back the P210 too, even if it will have some changes.

Will Sig ever made a shotgun?
>>
>>30093022

I would like to own a p229 some day, but I've already got a full size 9mm pistol so I can't justify the price of a sig. Also I will not buy a new Sig until Ron Cohen is fired or fucking dies. All Sig is doing now is riding the brand name while cutting quality and pumping out gimicky finishes and fan clubs. I don't know if I can forgive them for the colossal fuck up that was the P224. I wanted that gun so much, it was perfect for me, but fuck paying a premium price for a gun that's less functional than a hi point c9.

>I don't know if I can forgive them for the colossal fuck up that was the P224

I remember being new to Sigs when I only knew about the P226 and P228. It was exactly what I wanted, a subcompact da/sa but holleeeeey fuck that chunky ass mess. Why can't they make an inbetween with the 239 and the 224?

The very first 9mm handgun I bought was a CZ P-01, but not for long. I also bought a surplus Sig P6 (Sig P225) later the same day. (They're both in my pic.) This was in 2006 when surplus P6's were still plentiful and cheap. I got mine for around tree fitty.

Since then, I've bought a number of CZ's, even custom CZ's, but no more Sigs. It's not that CZ's were better than Sigs. It came down to price. CZ's were just a better value. Better bang/buck ratio.

The prime example of this was the day I got to finger fuck a Level-1 X-5 at my local Cabela's. I almost bought it that day... if it wasn't for the price... $2500. I just couldn't justify paying $2500 for one handgun. It was extremely cool, I mean, it has a 2 to 4 lb adjustable trigger pull. Since then I found an EAA Witness Elite Match in .38 Super that is 95% or more as good as an X-5 - but it only cost $619 before taxes.

Sigs are awesome. If you can get a deal, go for it. But in general, you can find just as good for a lot less money.

>sigs aren't fun to shoot
My p226 is more enjoyable to shoot than any HK or glock I have ever shot. Sorry you have girl hands.

I want to like them, I've owned 3 different 226's. One was an Exeter 9mm, one was a German .40 S&W (short extractor, stainless slide) and the last was a W. German 9mm. I loved to look at them, but I couldn't shoot them for shit. I've found that 226 triggers out of the box are very inconsistent from one gun to the next. The short reset trigger kit is pretty nice though. When I first joined the force we had a choice of a 220 or Glock 21 for our service pistol, I thought the Sig was nice, but I really didn't see the point in choosing the Sig over a 1911.
I still want to own a sig, and I might, but I think the stainless 226's are ugly, the old carbon steel slides with the removable breech are just better looking. I really don't like the look or feel of the 229, so I'm stuck looking for a used 228 or just buying a M11a1.

The SRT trigger is nice too.

>>30093022
They're good guns, but way overpriced and overrated due to their long history of government contracts. There's absolutely nothing superlative about a SIG P22Xs' reliability or durability in 2016, compared to similar guns from other popular companies. That being said, I like the idea of the P250 and will probably get one somewhere down the line.

Good guns.
As reliable as Glocks.
Not a fan of DA/SA triggers but that's a personal problem.

From what I understand, Sig Sauer is now the US branch of Swiss Arms, and they produce weapons there, while Swiss Arms makes them in Switzerland or something like that. I've heard that the US versions often aren't to par with the swiss ones.

If you can't shoot as well as you shot with your P226 with ANY handgun, regardless of its build quality, then you just need to work on your own technique. Glocks are capable of the same accuracy at 7 yards.

Good
>quality parts and manufacture
>accurate
>reliable

Bad
>big
>heavy
>DA/SA decocker isn't my thing
>long trigger reset
>bore axis
>detail stripping is retarded
>lazy engineering (c-springs under the grips)
>expensive

I know they are and I've sort much better. I have good days and of days at the range depending on if I've eaten anything or gotten enough sleep. That was a bad day really, usually I shoot better but the sig was just so much easier to get a good group with and felt so good to shoot, I traded my Glocks in immediately and bought one (that target was with a rental).
Glocks are absolutely capable of the same as are hk they all have a theoretical accuracy that is going to be better than even a great shooter. Is just that I have to try harder to get that accuracy out of the Glock.
This thread is full of people crying about how dog is overpriced. On what criteria? Full Metal rails, a superior grip, better sights all come on the sig.

>Is just that I have to try harder to get that accuracy out of the Glock.
Practice good technique and it will become automatic; you won't have to *try harder* once it becomes muscle memory, as it will just be second nature.
>>
>>30095755
>This thread is full of people crying about how dog is overpriced. On what criteria?
Well I guess when it comes down to it they're worth whatever people are willing to pay for them, aren't they. From a manufacturing standpoint though I don't see any good reason for a P22X to cost almost a grand, especially with all the MIM parts along with the relatively spotty QC SIG has suffered from in recent years.

MIM, when done right, both has a similar cost and quality to machined parts.

Make sure you have grip bolts loctited (blue). On 238 and 938 out of the box they often fall out and leave nasty marks on the frame. With some bad luck, the thread will also get damaged.

Otherwise, an awesome gun.
>>
>>30095619
>long trigger reset
Get a Legion, then. It doesn't get better than that. But careful, after it, all other triggers will feel gritty.

That doesn't fix everything else I don't like about them, pretty much lipstick-on-pig situation here.
