It's comfier and better balanced than the factory Ruger or the old ATI it used to have and MLOK is pretty neat, but I can't seem to push good groups out of it past 50 yards. It'll get around 1 MOA at 25 yards, then balloons to like 2.6 at 50.
IDK if I mounted the scope shittily, or if it's the stock, or the barrel, or I'm just a crappy shot. I haven't messed around with the variables enough to identify anything because I'm always short on ammo.
I have read that target shooters don't like it because it doesn't free-float and it's built to wide tolerances, but it seems adequate for a plinker or varmint gun.

I like it. It's a light-ish .22LR which does not feel like it's potmetal junk. It's plenty accurate.
I've found that mounting a red dot makes me want to plink too hard, and causes me to lose sight of fundamentals. So I tend not to use a red dot on it, although the rail is there.
The primary downsides of the 87 Target's design are:
1) If you're a 1911 or X-Five fan who's used to ride his thumb on the safety, you'll likely touch the slide too much and cause cycling issues. Obviously, once you know you need to look out for that, it's no longer an issue.
2) Disassembly requires you to take off the barrel weight. This requires an allen key. Kinda annoying, but whatever.
3) Loading can be hard with the hammer down. This is in part due to having no serrations in the rear of the slide. They went for "match" front serrations. I've been wondering if I should just have serrations machined in the back.

I was very interested in FNAR match when they first came out.
I got an M1A instead for its more common mags and parts, awesome iron sights, wood furniture, and it doesn't need a tool kit to field strip.
