At the rate things are going I would rather pay more for a new rifle with slightly more expensive ammo. X54 is far from hitting .308 prices for wolf or zqi and you can already get .223/5.56, 6.5 grendal and fucking 5.7x28 cheaper. They aren't full power but they are always memed as niche rounds but wold and federal are on par with surplus.

I prefer mauser m48, my first one is being shipped now. If you're willing to buy a LOT of ammo online (several hundred rounds), it's doable. There are also 15 rd boxes for 0.60 a shot.
