I knew this thanksgiving was going to be a shitshow, and promised to my brother not to be political as we were driving up. Things went well at first made good small talk with my uncle's "life partner" ate dinner and was helping clean up dishes when it started

At that point most of the room pulled the how dare you card and stormed off, my grandmother went on the "not you annon, your not like them" line.

Granddad has a Sauer 38H he got from his dad (WW2 vet, must have got it from the war), along with a shotgun and a .38 revolver.
Aunt and Uncle bought several firearms before the MD AWB came into effect (b/c libertarians with money and zero knowledge of guns), such as an AR, Benelli shotgun, Ruger MkIII, and a Kimber 1911 with a compensator that they horribly overpaid for and is a bad fit for either of them. Their son owns a Glock 22, and is very pro-gun. Despite having moved to PA for work, he has yet to take advantage of their superior gun laws.
My dad was the one to get me into shooting. Started with his Ruger 22/45 with a target barrel, have since enjoyed firearms and bought one of my own 6 months ago (should have gotten one earlier). He used to shoot competitively, and won a Glock 22 in the process.

Before my great-grandma died, she was known for carrying a shotgun around all the time because she was a half blind 90-year old woman living alone half an hour from civilization.
