steel plates when I move somewhere I can shoot them regularly, for now old bottles filled with water are pretty fun.
>>
>>30060991
If you don't want a magnified optic then go with any aim point.
>>

I have an aimpoint now but it's not as accurate as I'd like. Probably has more to do with the person pulling the trigger though.

I think I'd rather have an accupower

Yes it is. you could take any piece of shit AR 15 from a bottom rate pawn shop any where in the country and it will out perform the average shooter. Keep the Aimpoint and put more money into ammo. Focus of your sight picture, your trigger squeeze, and sight picture. You'll get there man.
>>

I looked into the accupower too but is it as durable? I put my gun through a lot

You can shoot steel from pistol calibers from 7, at least that's the closest I usually shoot from.

Occasional shrapnel but completely harmless if you're wearing earpro

SD-E will do literally everything well. Short reset, no takeup, clean light break, flat trigger enables you to get way down on it for very controlled precision shooting or way up on it for hosing things.

If you can't wait and would actually pay $200 for the MBT, the SD-E is the better value. If you're willing to wait however-the-fuck-long for the $124 MBT, it becomes harder to decide.

I really, REALLY prefer flat triggers, and the SD-E has a significantly lower pull weight (I have two, my pull gauge has one at 3.1lbs and the other at 3.4lbs, the MBT is advertised as 4.5lbs).

There he is. There he goes again. Look, everyone! He posted it once again! Isn’t he just the funniest guy around?! Oh my God.
I can almost see your pathetic massively overweight frame glowing in the dark, lit by your Underage goat covered computer screen which is the only source of light in your room, giggling like a girl as you once again type your little /ARG/ post up and fill in the captcha. Or maybe you don’t even fill in the captcha. Maybe you’re such a disgusting NEET that you actually paid for a 4chan pass, so you just choose the picture. Oh, and we all know the picture. The “epic” smiling goat child, isn’t it? I imagine you little shit laughing so hard as you click it that you drop your corn chips on the floor, but it’s ok, your mother will clean it up in the morning. Oh, that’s right. Did I fail to mention? You live with your mother. You are a fat fucking fuckup, she’s probably so sick of you already. So sick of having to hear about undertale from you all goddamn day, every day, for a grown man who spends all his time on 4chan posting about a goat. Just imagine this. She had you, and then she thought you were gonna be a scientist or an astronaut or something grand, and then you became a shitposter. A pathetic goatfag shitposter. She probably cries herself to sleep everyday thinking about how bad it is and how she wishes she could just disappear. She can’t even try to talk with you because all you say is “Where is your Ar?". You’ve become a parody of your own self. And that’s all you are. A sad little man laughing in the dark by himself as he prepares to indulge in the same old dance that he’s done a million times now. And that’s all you’ll ever be.

Can we stop the pissing match? Both of those rifles are cool as shit.

Here is mine in its final form, sans Vortex Razor 1-6 that will be coming next month. I'd love one of those Geissele SOPMOD mounts but honestly I'll probably just get a Larue. Going to get a Geissele scout light mount for the MK8 rail when it comes out as well so my light doesn't get so fucking dirty. Unless that Arisaka mount isn't garbage.

After I get the scope, the next build is either going to be an AR10 or a 9mm AR. 9mm is cheap and the ballistics out of a, say, 10.5 inch barrel are impressive. 7.62x51 is my favorite round after getting a lot of trigger time on an M110 and a Mk. 14. I also have a crate of linked Lake City stashed away I got for free so there is a bonus.

I'm hugely tempted to just be patient and wait for QC10 to start producing their 10mm AR barrels and build around that. Maybe pair it up with a Glock 40 or 21. I don't have any idea of a timeline on that wait though.

Never had an issue with shit in the action. I carried a scoped, wood-stocked M14 for 14 months in Afghanistan.

My biggest complaints:
>heavy
>flash hider is bad at hiding flash
>even with a properly mounted, good scope I couldn't do better than 2.5 MOA with it in part due to being a just not very accurate design, and in part because it has a dogshit trigger
>COMPLETELY UNCONTROLLABLE on auto, even from a bipod. Yes, the one I had was old enough to be full-retard instead of burst. Yes, I tried it (not at an enemy at least).

Fn barrel trump colt barrel in longevity and sometime precision.

Psa use LW Schneider small parts and upper. Lw Schneider supplied multiple known quality ar15 manufacturer with their parts including colt.

knock yourself out with it, bro. What's more important is if your cheek is resting naturally as you have the gun shouldered. There is surprisingly little wiggle room in the aperture sight -- unlike a red dot.
>>
>>30064557
Great read. Spoiler alert: Boots come medium-style
>>
>>30064522
It doesnt matter really.

Ideal distance would be different for every person. You should be easily able to perfectly center the center of tip of front ppst in rear aperture without much time and effort so too close's out.

You should be able to clearly see crisp ass front post so too far's out.

When you are too close its like you are standing in big ring 8 feet in diameter and faggy host of tv show you are on ask you to quickly put your fingertip wherever you believe is the center of the ring.

You gunna be off and slow meanwhile if you had to point the center of ring thats feet in diameter on table that you are standing by. Thats ideal

If you are too far from rear aperture its like trying to find center of quarter with your fat finger.

Myself i found i can get smaller grouping when im farther from rear aperture but its slower.

But bad disadvantage of serve carrier tilt wearing away the buffer tube and if not replace timely it will wear away the lower. Plus the carrier nub would get deformed by getting repeatedly hammered by piston rod plus some piston rod bending.

I can literally set my steel target up anywhere there is dirt. And I think my last range trip alone we put nearly 2k rounds at my target between various calibers, that quickly adds up in clay cost. Plus no satisfying "ping" every time you hit. And a larger target.

I can't deny the wonderful ping.

I've got a few aluminum molds from work and those work OK but I don't hang them

I need to get some steel. On an unrelated note, I got about $200 worth of .223 and 7.62 RFN for around $60.

If you don't have the 10 seconds it takes to replace the tube or buffer retaining pin when you're doing your post-shooting trip basic field strip cleaning once every 6000 rounds, you either need to loosen up your schedule or lay off the drugs when you're cleaning your gun.
