Let's have an heirloom thread /k/.
What weapons have been passed down through your family? Anything that has been passed down farther than grandfather?

I have an old Hungarian air rifle that I found in one of grandpa's closets long after he passed away and my father gave me this Canadian rifle in 30-06.
When my wife and I have a kid I'm hoping they'll appreciate everything too. Of course I don't plan on giving any of my other rifles away either.

This is the pistol that belonged to a drunk that shot my great great great uncle jimmy. After being shot my uncle took the gun and hit the drunk in the face. He then threw the guy in the drunk tank to sober up. He released the guy the next day. He kept the gun as punishment.

My aunt has a colt police positive that my gramps would take with him when he would deposit money from his business. Things like from the 1930s.

I want it so damn bad.
>>
>>30044065
I also have the shotgun that killed my great great grandfather

You should bring that beauty out sometime-it looks just gorgeous in the photos you've posted. Same with your Nugget and K31.

As for heirlooms, well, you've seen mine many times.

is that a fucking sporterized SVT
>>

My Grandfather sold his 1911A1 that he bought after his time in Korea for $15 dollars in the 1990's. 15 fucking dollars. I had a great Uncle who died not too long ago, had a massive collection, (over 300), of black powder rifles and muskets, bolt actions, and shotguns. The fucktard wife threw away all the "junk guns", (literally every one of the muzzle loaders, you can guess how far back they dated...), and sold off all the other ones. She literally threw them away. Wrapped them up in carpets, drove them to a dump, and threw them away. By the time I got up there to the funeral, (from Chesterfield VA to Shenandoah, long drive and two days later), and found out about this shit, the area where they disappeared to had been completely covered over in trash. I broke down in tears at the edge of the heap.

Everyone else in my close family owns no guns, except for my other fucktard grandparents, whom own a god damn Taurus PT22 for self defense, and some fudds who live out in Georgia.

Fucking kill me, please.

His is bizarre. It's a Finland SVT40 rechambered to .303
Here it is beside mine.
>>
>>30044065
damn uncle jimmy was a badass
>>
>>30045155
that's cool and strange as fuck, why .303 though?
>>
>>30045201
Apparently at some time or other he trained a monkey to scratch his head while he read the morning paper. Uncle jimmy was a cool dude.
>>
>>30045213
At the time .303 was super plentiful since everyone and their Dad hunted with their sporterized Lee Enfields.
>>
>>30045397
sounds like it

>>30045450
you would think .303 would be a little more common now then

At the time, it was cheaper than 7.62x54R. Some say they're made with Enfield barrels, and some were reportedly on SVT-38 receivers. They still pop up occasionally for sale.

I also inherited pic related, an old '53 La Salle 12ga. Has an interesting importer's mark that nobody recognizes. Only info I've found were some ancient forum posts that say it may have been one of those CIA-owned shadow companies that funnelled guns to US-backed rebels back in the day.

Do you want to expand upon that a bit? Sounds interesting.

Nope, for the same reason the supply of surplus .303 has dried up. Now you either buy expensive factory ammo or reload.
>>
>>30045654
that's a really nice looking shotgun, the neat history behind it only makes it even cooler.

That's what I was thinking. The furniture is excellent.

Well, they sold cheap revolvers as well.

I tried a technique called "casketing". It was pretty beat up when I got it. OP's working on a mount for the rifle, and I'm in contact with Scout Industries to make one of their mounts for the SVT.

>Winchester Model 70 was his main rifle
>when he died it was passed down through the family
>Last year there was a hunting convention

>they had a booth set up with grandfathers rifle
>uncle asked us to takes pictures with it with the family
>we did, and some guys took pictures for a magazine
>we then walk around the convention and enjoyed the day
>several weeks later get a call from my dad
>turns out we were tricked
>faggot uncle set up the magazine page and pictures so he can sell it
>trying to get $75K for what rightfully belongs to the family

I have my great grandfathers Wichester model 94 in 30-30. I love this little thing more than any of the other rifles I've shot so far from family and friends. Glad I got this fun little gun

>>30046240
$75K for a Model 70? Was it dipped in gold?
