Hot damn those guns look beautiful but they seem way to pricey for a .356 wheelgun.

eddie eagle?

Wasn't there an alloy revolver awhile back being imported through someone that was made by them. .357 with mixed reviews about using that or .38special because of the frames strength?

The gun, frame, barrel, cylinder and yoke are made from a single billet of drop forged steel. The exact steel is proprietary and Korth won't say what it is. The gun however is hard and checks in at Rockwell c scale of 60. Harder than most production guns and it does make a difference as I'll explain.
>I mentioned the strength of the metal in the Korth as well as the care of the hand fitting. I began some tests of the Korth vs. the M28. At the beginng of the tests the barrel to cylinder gap of the Korth was just over .0025 while that of the M28 was .003. With just under 200 rounds of heavy hunting loads through both guns the barrel to cylinder gap of the Korth was where it had begun for all cylinders. The M28 however had opended up and varied from .003 to .004. The S&W showed wear and some additional gas cutting on the frame above the barrel from some hot .125 grain loads. The Korth showed no significant wear.

I'm not bashing korth by any means but to imply there is any significant where on a sw from a few hundred rounds of normal use is blatantly misleading as is Implying that a 003 gap is significantly different from a 0025 gap.

Measurable differences after only a couple hundred rounds is noteworthy I think. Even if it isn't a big deal I think it's at least interesting.

Nope

Why must they do this. I just want a classic Korth Combat.

And they only cost 2K more than these new models, whose price everyone is already bitching about. Personally I think this partnership is great, some of the most interesting firearm news in a good long while.

There's no point in cutting down the price if it's not even the same gun anymore.

It's still a Korth. The S&W-style cylinder release is frankly better and more intuitive, so I don't see the problem there. There's apparently more CNC involvement in the manufacturing process, but it's still the same quality steel and no doubt impeccably finished. Is a traditional blue finish and knowledge that there was more human labor put into your gun really worth an additional two grand to you?

Again, I'm stoked that there will now be obtainable Korths on the American market and hope they sell a lot of 'em.
