I know it is an advert for a game but it has some parts that give detail to the vehicle. especially the part where they say Afghanit and not Afghanistan (towelfags BTFO).

Also what is the difference between AESA and APAR (Active Phased Array Radar)?

Also really ugly turret.

The sheet metal covers the real armor underneath. It is there for LO purposes.

>>
>>30041499
Personally my favorite is how they now just put the ERA bricks under a thin removable plate in order to make it look like the vehicle has real passive armor.
>>
>>30040770
>It is
No it's not.

Every eastern turret is smaller than western ones. For the last half a century they have generally used the cast frying pan styled turrets. And guess what? The T14 isn't any smaller than them, and we have showed ample ability kill these things at extreme range. Your size argument is invalid.
>>
>>30041530
My favorite is instead of investing in armor that does its job, they spend money on damage control features like ERA and APS at all. Also little unknown fact era gets used up or falls off, APS isn't the stop gap solution to ultimate survivability. Tanks like the Leo, chally, and Abrams will just shrug hits while Easter tanks run a greater risk of being killed.
>>
>>30040189
The T-14 has a very lightly armored turret underneath that shell.
>>
>>30037947
Can someone tell me why having a smaller turret is advantageous? I'm not questioning unmanned turret but why the smaller better?
>>
>>30041557
Americans would be halted at the first river in russia that they couldn't cross

Theres a reason that Russia builds lighter tanks
>>
>>30042050
>Theres a reason that Russia builds lighter tanks

It had a lot to do with poorly thought out infrastructure, in particular the gauge of railroads and the fact that Soviet bridges had Soviet Civilian Quality (patent pending).
>>
>>30041137
No, it did not.
>>30041186
No, that's not how it works. Just because there are different experimental models with the general idea of unmanned turret in mind doesn't mean one was derived from another. Object 195 is related to T-14, but Object 477 has absolutely nothing to do with either.
>>30041211

>>30041499
>It's actually weaker than what we thought
Meanwhile in real life Kontakt-5 was virtually impenetrable until Americans introduced M829A2 in 1993, two years after the end of the Cold War.
>>30041539
It is, dumbass.
>>30041557
And my favourite is how the US is incapable of developing proper ERA or APS and stuck with the sole option of strapping more weight on already overweight barns.

Reducing turret silhouette reduces hit probability.

Those were made independably by different design bureaus who absolutely refused to cooperate with each other even if specifically ordered to do so. And those tanks have different layout.

>Reducing turret silhouette reduces hit probability.
But with all the guided munitions does it really? Wouldn't a Challenger 2 like unmanned turret protect a big portion of the hull from above and also be completely isolated and not cook people?

It's pretty well established that Iraq had one of the most powerful Armies in the world in the '90s

It's also pretty well established that Nork does not.

Canada has a more powerful military than the Norks do.
>>
>>30043786
Pretty well established by the CNN? Iraq operated nothing but rustbucket export shit from 50s, 60s and occasionally 70s.
>>
>>30043732
Russian infantry carriers aren't even armored enough to protect the infantry inside.
What makes you think "ballistic shielding" can protect anything against anything that isn't a stone thrown by a child

what next? Russian tanks are impenetrable because the kontakt outer shell is made of "ballistic shielding"

Fuck you, your shitty turret made of poorly fitted together sheets of tin metal gets hit by an MG burst and most of the equipment goes offline.
An explosive happens nearby, most electronics are offline
Hit by HE, everything goes down.
And since "MK1 eyeball" is deemed so useless by the russians, the tank will be completely blind and combat ineffective.

In short, russians somehow made poorly protected russian tanks even more poorly protected

If I gave every man in Britain a gun and a uniform, Britain would not be the largest military in the world, we´d still get steamrolled by literally anybody, especially the US.

Iraq being a powerful military in 1990 is just bollocks, especially considering they just got out of a decade long war with Iran.

Yeah and that rustbucket export shit was state of the art russian tech. They practically imported the PAK FA and T14.
