Basically this dumbass shot himself while he was cleaning his "loaded 22lr", he said he didn't notice for a couple of days.

He said that he pulled his gun above his chest (pointing towards himself) because his dog came and jumped up at him and most likely shot himself.

I think it's bullshit and he either did a ND or something else happened. What do you guys think? Also 22lr meme thread/

literally why am I not fucking surprised? This place man

some small town drama regarding .22 LR

>In montana
>circa 2001ish
>portland oregon transplant family moves into our quaint little town in the mountains
>dad buys a revolver, a 30.06, a ruger 10/22 and a 12 gauge cuz the dad always wanted to be country
>12 year old kid steals the .22 and goes into the back yard unsupervised (during one of the numerous 2 to 5 day periods that he wouldn't see his parents cuz they were busy at work)
>shoots at a rock from about 10 feet away
>ricochet happens, grazes his face leaving maybe a 3 inch cut on his cheek
>medical folks say it could have just as easily have been a stone fragment, who really knows
>doesn't matter, mom flips her fucking shit cuz her precious little baby "got shot" by one of those evil scary baby killer guns
>spent like, 5 years bawling about evil guns
>general consensus in town was
> A) if you really cared about your kids you might want to not leave them at home for entire school weeks unsupervised
> B) if you really care about gun safety maybe you should lock your guns up securely and do the same with your ammo if you have a 12 year old kid
> C) both of these go double if your shitty larvae are sticky fingered and steal shit from their parents because said parents aren't ever around to actually raise them
>>
>>30029054

My local Facebook gun page still goes nuts for 22lr ammo whenever Walmart gets it in and I never miss a chance to call them fags for buying so much of it they'll never have time shoot it all.

Daily reminder that Florida being crazy is nothing new.

>In the late 1950s and early 1960s, it wouldn’t have been inaccurate to blame the brisk pace of rising insurance premiums on the Nub Club. By the end of the ’50s, the Florida Panhandle was responsible for two-thirds of all loss-of-limb accident claims in the United States. And Vernon, Florida, was the epicenter.
>It’s not clear whether the first member of the Nub Club, the unintentional founder, entered by choice or by accident. Maybe there was an accident at the factory. Or maybe it was a calculated choice—brought on by the sputtering economics of small town America.
>What is clear is that, at some point in the early ’50s, the idea of trading one’s limb for a few thousand dollars became seductive enough an option to a significant percentage of Vernon’s population. By the mid '60s, at least 50 of Vernon's 700 residents had joined the Nub Club by way of farming accidents, garage mishaps, hunting incidents, and so on. Although a few Vernon residents had the boldness to saw and hack off their limbs, most preferred the brevity of the shotgun blast.

As a writer and ex-newspaper editor I'm highly annoyed by the first headline there. Where do I find these "quarters which can bite through clothing?"

"Super-sized mosquitoes as big as quarters and able to bite through clothing..." or something would be much better.

That aside, there was a really good Florida Man story the other day and now I'm going crazy not being able to remember what it was.

President Reagan got hit with a .22 (short?) and didn't realize until someone said "You've been shot!"
>>
>>30029054
there is a reason for all this florida nonsense and that is florida record laws are far more open then many states. your shitty state just doesn't want you to know when your local hero / crazy person goes on a bender/ adventure
>>
>>30029068
Can someone please replace the word Florida with Arkansas

It would fit perfect with Arkansas stereotype just like that kommando in ozark that jumped into the lake and bit off a snakes head just to get his rifle from the lake.
>>
>>30029054
sounds like something my grandpa would do. hes almost accidentally killed himself a few times, including once when his appendix exploded and he didnt even notice till the infection was starting to eat away at his organs.
>>
>>30031580

.22lr. Adrenaline combined with the small size of the bullet could explain how you wouldn't feel it.
>>
>>30030997
>>30030997
I read that as Hillary and thought well yes I would probably get mad and want to shoot something to
>>
>>30032178
Did the exact same thing.
>>
>>30029054
Sounds like bullshit.

Also I'm tired of people think king a majority of these florida man stories are actually committed by floridians. Usually it's some fucking transplant from Michigan or new jersey or jew york. Now that they've ruined what was once a beautiful little swamp now they're moving on to south carolina. I give it ten years before Carolina man becomes the popular thing.
>>
>>30031580
Still almost killed him though

>>
>>30031868
That's one theory but seriously dude, there are way too many news stories about Florida doing crazy shit. It's not just the police records, it's the fact it's the crazy state.
>>
>>30029068
>Woman takes dump on floor, asks cops what she is supposed to do.

I can only imagine being a cop at that scene would be hard not to just start laughing your ass off. What's wrong with that state? Is it the bath salts, old Jews, renecks and retirees?

Acting like having a bunch of knives is any more dangerous than having a few. What? Is she going to make a knife cannon, or wield 2000 bladed instruments at once? Cant even stab a deputy with a sword.
>>
>>30032626
You don't think it's a little odd someone like that has 2000 knives and is caught cutting window screens? Lady looks nuts.

I'm all for people owning weapons but god damn, that's just crazy.
>>
>>30032639
Oh, its weird as all hell. But theyre acting like shes dangerous because of owning so many.
>>
>>30032658
It's kind of a sign she's not the most mentally stable person. She also tried go full weeaboo and attack a cop with a sword.
>>
>>30029054
it's pretty common for people that accidentally shoot themselves to hide it until they have to get help. It's embarrassing, and if they act like "I didn't even notice for 3 whole days" they get some of their pride back.
>>
>>30032673
Yeah, but people wouldnt act that way if they learned their neighbor had to go to the psych ward.

This was panhandle pre-retiree boom. Floridians have always been, and always will be insane. So much so that it attracts the worst of the rest of the country to join them. The open records makes the insanity more accessible to the rest of the country but it doesn't diminish it.
>>
>>30032801
Yeah, Florida is just the crazy state. Like I said before, it' the Russia of the US.
>>
>>30029068
It's not so much that Florida is more insane than the rest, they just have looser rules on police blotter reports, so everything gets out.
>>
>>30032876
I've lived in crazier states, Tennessee and Texas for starters.
>>
IDK, seems possible.

I once had a nail gun shot into my foot and didn't realize until i went to kneel down an hour later. also have seen twice someone cutting off a finger on the work site and not noticing until the looked down.
>>
>>30029054
That pic is fake as shit
>>
>>30029068
Florida's arrests are public record immediately, so newspapers jump on it.
>>
>>30034671
Yeah but you have to be a crazy state to begin with to get this kind of stuff happening.
>>
>>30031484
>Super-sized mosquitoes as big as quarters and able to bite through clothing

Too wordy. Try 'Mosquitoes as big as quarters; able to bite through clothing'

Or even 'Super sized mosquitoes bite through clothing'
>>

>implying it's the geographic location and not just people being people
it is hot here tho

That and I think bath salt and meth consumption is high there, right? Also old people in large numbers is always a bad thing. They stop giving a fuck at some point and will do whatever.
