No anon. Getting an m1a to consistently shoot like that with tuned hand loads in a vice is going to be a very difficult task.
It's possible his rifle really likes american eagle but the usual variation in velocity with that cheap shit it going to make groups like that very unlikely.
My guess is he's a paid shill trying to drum up social networking buzz. Could be very profitable to have a "super accurate cheap ammo" meme.

All of his username's posts are about shooting that rifle over the last year. There's another post where he posted a .4" ATC group at 500 yards, and another post where he shows his 500yard setup.
I'm going to guess that ridiculously small group is unlikely to happen again, but I imagine the guy is still a good shot. I mean, he could be facing, but that's a lot of work just to impress people you'll never see in real life.

I consider my self a decent shot and own an M1A with a nation match barrel and sights. That bottom group would be about right with PMC but my experiences with American eagle I get about 1.5 moa at 100 yards iron sights. If he's using a scope he may be able to hit 1 moa but not sub .5 moa. Also in my experience I get bad fliers with American eagle for some reason but not PMC or hand loads.

My M1A shoots the 168 grain OTM "designed for the M1A" stuff into consistent sub-MOA groups. I think the group in the OP was a choice group, though. My rifle won't do .3 MOA consistently.

Do you calibrate said load or just shoot out the box? I've got a NM, and get just about 1 moa with out to about 500 then they start opening up, but that could be shooter error.

Right out of the red American Eagle box. They must have fucked up because the best groups that rifle has shot were done with that ammo. Even the stuff that's not specifically for the M1A is usually around a minute/1.5 for me.
