Calling all top guns.

What are your theories on what happened to MS804?

Sounds to me like there was another craft in the air because there's no way they'd know a missile was headed their way

Start picking out militaries with fighter capability that like killing innocents

Does Libya still have SA-5's? Could ISIS have fired one from around Benghazi?

I suppose if there was a bomb on board it would explain the fucked up flying pattern, but I really doubt someone smuggled a bomb

I'm calling bullshit on the Russia thing

There have been various reports stating that Paris is full of Muslims

They shot down the Malaysians

Anyone got the polandball where Russia denies things and then admits to it?

Russia shot down one, America shot down the other near diego garcia and covered it up because a load of chinese were onboard

A explosion in the rear bathroom. Severing or destroying tail controlls (rudder and elevator) would cause a flight path as described.
>>
>>30025505
My bet is that it was hijacked and then shot down by either the Egyptian air force or the French, and it's being kept quiet.

Losing a wing could do the same as the pilot panics to regain control

But you'd think he'd radio

Bomb partially fizzled. Setting the cargo on fire until the remaining explosive, exploded. Causing the plane to be filled with smoke. Then the flight controls and other cockpit electronics failed. The plane spiraled out of control and the pilots tried to gain control. Then the bomb exploded and the plane broke up mid air.

Would the med have SOSUS arrays? Would the high volume of military radars in the area show the angle/velocity that the plane hit the water so they can find it underwater?

There is an EU referendum coming up in the UK and it's likely that proof that a bomb was involved will be suppressed until after the result

The OP pic clearly states they lost it under 10,000 feet

>>
>>30026714
I'm leaning that there was an electrical fire that got out of control, possibly one of the engines flamed out.
>>
>>30025903
could be an independent actor.

some guy with no real connections to any terror group. who just decided to use his airport job to bomb an airplane.
>>
Butthurt Morsi-supporting Islamist in the cockpit played the martydom card, throwing one or both of the engines in full-reverse.
>>
>>30025617
What about the indications of fire in one of the lavatories prior to the loss of the aircraft?

The maneuver could have been in response to the sudden loss of pressure as the pilots tried to dive to lose altitude. That would explain the turn.

The plane, weakened by the explosion, fails under the stress and falls from the sky.
>>
>>30026787
I don't think so, it wouldn't spiral cause the yaw moment would be so strong as to either throw the jet into a flat spin or a vertical down roll, where it would have been torn to pieces.

It wasn't brought down by any land-based SAM, guys. Any S200s coming from anywhere in Libya would be out of range, let alone bengahzi. Even the S300s in Latakia would be out of range. Iron Dome, too. Thing went down right in the middle of the sea. If it was shot down, it was shot down by an aircraft, but it almost certainly wasn't shot down.

This is the last set of ACARS sent before all comms was lost, I've put in my $0.02 as well:

00:26Z 3044 ANTI ICE R WINDOW
Right window (cockpit) has been severely damaged, anti ice sensor reads this as error (as it only sees itself).

00:26Z 561200 R SLIDING WINDOW SENSOR
Right window (cockpit) has been severely damaged, sensor that detects if window is closed or not reads this as error (as it only sees itself).

00:26Z 2600 SMOKE LAVATORY SMOKE
Smoke detector in lavatory goes into alarm.

00:27Z 2600 AVIONICS SMOKE
Avionics bay detector in lavatory goes into alarm.

00:28Z 561100 R FIXED WINDOW SENSOR
Window sensor now goes into alarm, indicated the whole window is now basically fucked (the wind speed would most likely rip the damaged window off).

00:29Z 2200 AUTO FLT FCU 2 FAULT
Part of avionics system has failed. This is located around the centre console of the cockpit.

00:29Z 2700 F/CTL SEC 3 FAULT
Part of avionics system has failed. This is also located around the centre console of the cockpit.

My thinking is a device detonated either in the passenger lavatory near the cockpit or the avionics bay underneath/ slightly behind the cockpit. This would explain the cockpit window failure and double smoke detector activation, as well as the avionics system failures.

I'd probably say lavatory since the avionics alarmed slightly after. Reason for slight delay between the window failure and alarms? Go hold a smoking candle under your smoke alarm and tell if the first wisp makes it alarm.

Legit info. Thanks for sharing. Pretty definitive that it was a bomb detonated in the front bathroom, since the smoke alarm and window damage are within the same minute (00:26)

My bet on Russians. Is this space monitored by NATO countries? Can it be possible that sneaky Su-27 from Syria intercept it?
>>
>>30032113
Why the fuck would they?
>>
>>30032113
they could probably DO it
could they do it in a way that noone else knows, very much less likely - theres a LOT of countries around there that got semi-decent air defense systems, especially monitoring capabilities. you go in high, everyone will see you, you go in low, you look VERY suspicious to those who still see you.

plus they got no motive. >>30032171
>>
>>30032171
Do you believe that someone could smuggle explosives on board in Paris? Impossible. Russia need NATO attention on Iraq and Syria so they could escalate escalate chaos in Europe.
>>
>>30032113

Going with no on this one, Russia has no motive.

Either structural failure or terrorist attack. the later is much more likely.
>>
>>30032218
You do realise Paris CdG airport had recently revoked several security clearances due to ties with Islamic extremism?

The whole of fucking Europe aside from the UK has their shit exposed all over the place, it wouldn't surprise me if some sympathizer had the motive to plant even just a fist sized device.
>>
I'm sure the final few moments of flight went something like this:

>TERRAIN AHEAD - PULL UP!
>TERRAIN AHEAD - PULL UP!

>>30032249
>Either structural failure or terrorist attack. the later is much more likely.

Is it, though? I know most accidents are pilot error, but is terrorist attack higher in the running than structural failure?
>>
>>30032249
wouldt be first time russians shoot innocents because even they are too dumb to read and use their equipment correctly,
that said even I don't think it was a gang of vatniks upholding russian moral high ground
>>
>>30025505
seems pretty straight forward.

A kebab working at De Gaulle put a bomb on board, it detonated over the med, and the aircraft went down.

We'll see how it plays out. It may turn out to be something else, but I'd put 90% odds on some variation of the above being the culprit.
>>
>>30034665

I don't doubt this, but why was it done? The majority of the passengers and crew were Egyptian, it was an Egyptian plane. Wouldn't the attack have had more tangible results if put aboard a plane flying to America or England?
>>
>>30033701
>TERRAIN AHEAD - PULL UP!
>TERRAIN AHEAD - PULL UP!
No, smoke in cabin over the ocean.
Probably something more like this:

>>
>>30034707
>>30034665
Wouldn't a group at least take claim of the attack, even if it was done by a lone wolf psycho?
>>
>>30034758

EGPWS doesn't just shut off for fires, though, and it'll start yelling even if you're going into the god damned ocean.
>>
>>30025769
>Losing a wing could do the same as the pilot panics to regain control
>But you'd think he'd radio
It's hard to say how people would react under that kind of pressure. When your aircraft stops responding correctly to control inputs you only have a limited time to diagnose the problem, work out a solution, put it in to action, and see if it works. The eight seconds to send a maday is eight seconds you're not doing anything about the fact you're about to hit the deck at 500mph, which is a more pressing issue.
