>>30021115
I love that story.
Aside from the nugget I bought for $80 when that was a thing, it's this mossman 500 I got from a pawnshop for $150.
It looked like it hadn't ever been cleaned, and the retard who had it before me glued a damn wooden dowel into the magazine instead of using an actual duck plug. That took several hours to remove.
Sous great now though, and magpul furniture looks pretty good on a shotgun.
>>30021319
I'm afraid I can't help you with specific stores out there, but you should look up ranges local to you and see which ones have rifles for rental. Try out as many as you can before making a decisions, and when it comes time to buy, look for independent shops instead of big sporting goods chains. They'll generally have better prices or at the very least better customer service.
And did you really mean to say you dislike fully automatic (select fire)? I don't think anyone would be looking at a machine gun for their first gun.

You can buy them but can't use them in shooting range so... not so great. Some shooting ranges have different rules depending on the "owner" though

AMD-65 - $240
Back in the glory days when no one knew what the fuck they were, before Century bought a bunch and bubbafucked them to where no one wanted them.
Honorable mention to my RPK for $550 though.
>>30022044
AR's are going to be semi-auto. In fact all guns you find are going to be semi-auto. You can't just accidentally get a full auto, like over a year of paperwork and about $15,000 is what it takes to get into full autos. I think maybe you can buy some Mac's for like $4,000 still, but anyway you're not going to be finding any full autos.
>>30022302
If possible. I'd like to get one like this.
>>30022302
>In fact all guns you find are going to be semi-auto
Semi auto instead of auto. If you see a gun being called an auto, it's because it's an automatic loading gun, not because it's full auto
Too lazy to take new picture
vz 61, 250 euro
bought a plastic grip and two extra mags, that came up to maybe 50 euro extra
I thought it was trash (historical value tho) until my local shooting comp had a 2gun stage with a pistol caliber carbine. Performed admirably, it's built like a brick. Not hard to do when you're shooting 32acp, barely stronger than rimfire.
All about tradeoffs

$180 new. Might gift to to my dad and buy a 590 though since I shoot in the rain a lot and I have to watch the parts where the finish has worn off since it'll rust.
>>30022332
Got no idea what that is since I'm really terrible with bolt guns, but you can find tons just like that.
I'd suggest a .22 for your first gun, low recoil, dirt cheap ammo, it's great to practice with and just generally fun. Ruger 10/22's are the best IMO because there's so many parts and accessories floating around out there, but it is a semi auto.
The Marlin XT-22 is like $200 and a lot like what you posted, also a .22 bolt action. There's one in this picture with a Marlin 795 under it. They're around the same price, I have the 795 and like it a lot but it's hard to get magazines for it, so the 10/22 might be a slightly better option if you decide to go semi-auto instead of bolt.
And then of course you have the Mosin Nagant. I think everyone and their mom has like 5 of them, you can get them for around $140 and ammo is dirt cheap, but they recoil horrifically, they're loud, they're.... a beast. I wouldn't get one for a while, but they're still great guns.
>>30018670
Is that a nylon 66?
>>30022421
>have the 795 and like it a lot but it's hard to get magazines for it,
The Promag 25 rounders for the 795 are actually supposed to be OK, if you didn't know.
Marlin really needs to make a factory 25 rounder though.
>>30018624
fat cat detected
>>30022446
Oh shit I hadn't even seen those. Haven't touched my .22's since it dried up a few years ago. I just feel cheated since I used to pay like $9 for 777 rounds and got pissed when it went up to like $16 for 777 rounds. Paying the current prices still feels dirty even though it's still cheap as fuck compared to like .308
Someone made these cheap clear plastic ones and they liked to rocket all your .22 out the top like a fountain of disappointment.

>>30022446
My 795, posted above, came with three of the 25 rd promags. I loaded them with a random mix of 22 and took them to the range. Didn't have any jams, misfeeds or FTE. Ammo used was federal 40gr, cci mini mags, Aguilar red and blue boxes and Remington gold. It liked the cci best accuracy wise.

The .22/410 is a awesome innawoods gun if you wanna hunt some squirrels or birds, or just wanna plink some steel.
>>30026738
It was broken and they didn't think it was worth anything. I fixed it.

They make a similar gun that's 12ga on top and .22 on the bottom, and comes with a set of pistol cartridge inserts for the 12ga barrel. Seems like a good SHTF gun, at least if DayZ has taught me anything. (Which it almost certainly has not.)

The end of the barrel was dented in (and that fucker was 33 inches) so I had that cut down to the legal minimum, (It lost a few pounds as well)
Then the broken stock came off and was rounded off, and then I oiled it and got bored, so I wrapped a rope around it and burned it off (fancy gunsmithing 17th century style) and it ended up really dark.
I've also re-blued it.
