Was this a real concept?
I honestly can't tell. This submarine has 16 torpedo tubes, carries missiles, AND to top it all off, it carries THREE fucking midget subs.
This is metal gear levels of crazy, but I know during the cold war a ton of over the top designs were seriously considered.
Can anyone confirm?

Russia come up with crackpot designs all the time. The last time America believed them (Mig 25), the F-15 was created to counter fake capabilities. Funny thing, the F-15 outmatched the fake specs of Mig 25.

The cargo sub they made was quite successful even if it made only one trip. Before the US entered the war it transported a shipment of concentrated chemical dyes to the US and made a shitload of money since the US had no domestic supply of the stuff.
