Would America really go to war with China to save Taiwan?
>>
>>29996025
We'd probably flip a coin on it
>>
We would go to war with China under the guise of saving Taiwan as long as we could accomplish other substantial tasks at the same time (like blowing them out of the South China Sea)

Go to war? Unlikely.

Would chink muslims suddenly have heavy weapons they didnt before? You betcha.
>>
>>29996032
How fucking dumb are you

China is your largest trade partner, and you want to go to war with them?
>>
If the US doesn't intervene, it would trigger a crisis in East Asia as American allies lose trust in Washington's security assurances and try to counter an increasingly-aggressive Beijing.
>>
>>29996025
Twenty years ago maybe, but these days not so much.
>>
>>29996025
Well, depends on your definition of war. Was OP preying mantis a war? If so, then yes, they will stage a limited intervention.
>>
>>29996145
And the US is the largest importer of Chinese goods, yet they'd risk embargoes over a shitty little island?

This is a hypothetical you fuckwad, that argument goes both ways. "Going to war" doesn't mean full on WW3 style mobilization. There's already shit being stirred in the South China Sea that would fuel the argument of limited response to the situation in question.
>>
>>29996145
China is not greater than all of the US's trading partners put together, and thats what they risk in SE asia.

Loseing faith in america to keep its word is tantamount to loseing its superpower status; unwilling or unable matters not.
>>
>>29996025
A better question is, could a war between 2 nuclear countries stay conventional ?
>>
>>29996162
>What is Indo-Pakistani war
>>
>>29996025

Maybe. Only if Taiwan was willing to take China's place on the economic stage when we're done kicking the Reds out.
>>
>>29996145

If we can kick out China's leadership and replace it with Taiwan's, it'll be like nothing ever changed.
>>
>>29996025
It would have to. TW is supplier of important tech for US industry.

That's the plan.

China has a list of things they'd go to war over Taiwan. Taiwan obtaining a nuclear weapon, Taiwan declaring independence, etc. Taiwan is less of a national blight for the Chinese than, say, twenty or thirty years ago. They're probably fine with the status quo.

That may change in the future when America is no longer in a position to defend Taiwan. Until then, yeah, America would respond to a Chinese invasion. It would try its hardest to de-escalate, but would match any escalation the Chinese threw at the US.

The US reneging on its obligations to Taiwan would massively damage its diplomatic ties to other nations in the world.
>>
>>29996025
Yes, but not to save Taiwan but because the jews would benefit from arms trade and global chaos.
>>
>>29996025
Proxy war! Get ready for the Rambo III treatment in your own country, Chong.
>>
>>29996145
soviet union were the largest trading partner to germans when they went to war
>>
>>29996162
Yes. As long as neither homeland is threatened or attacked, it could stay conventional. The first step in escalation would be conventional attacks on military targets in one of the homelands. From there it just keeps spinning up until everybody is involved and you have the Vatican throwing nukes at Monaco.

China would be hurt more than the US if they decide to start shit.
>>
>>29996220

Pretty much this. Forcing the PRC to transfer power to the ROC is America's best bet, and a possibly achievable war goal.
>>
>>29998146

This proves? All this means is America will let Israel fuck up some Palestinians and pretend to "protest" to keep the doves at bay on the homefront.
>>
>>29996025
Fuck yeah I'll go to war with China.

Fucking bartender told me when I wasn't looking he make a joke, he pee peed in my Coke.

Semper butt sex.

Trade with China is not more important than economic flow through the South China Sea or the geopolitical implications of the US not living up to its treaties.

Near Slave Labor can be found anywhere.
Factories can be rebuilt.

China will never produce enough food to feed its people if trade agreements breakdown with the west.

The Chinese are just saber rattling, They know no other way to ensure their people their rule is just. Remember the last time they had to quell a small scale rebellion?

Free flow of trade, and American global dominance is significantly more important than trade with China, considering the trade is largely one-sided. (America imports).

Legitimately the only reason we are not involved in SE Asia like we are in the Middle East currently, is China being a nuclear power. As we go on in the modern era, we're starting to see that
1) China very likely does not maintain its nuclear weapons
2) China very likely could not reliably deploy its nuclear weapons
3) China is incapable of projecting force outside of China, meaning that the US could safely and reliably ramp up military operations in SE Asia to create deterrence for nuclear weapons (See: What we're doing in Eastern Europe with Russia)
4) China's economy is an inflated bubble that is extremely vulnerable. They will be unable to sustain it, this is a globally accepted economic fact, it's a matter of what happens when it bursts.

Realistically, China will negate itself as a threat in the next 10 years strictly because it will face sanctions for the South China Sea, and result in economic collapse for them. US Stronk.

I bet if you dug into the details it would involve clauses that would basically destroy Israel.

This kind of stuff happens all the time. The UN is hard to take seriously when countries like Iran, Yemen, and Pakistan sit on human rights committees.
>>
China would only go to war vs Taiwan if it fully declares independence. US said that if Taiwan does he, he won't come to rescue.
