Worth it to buy this and install the apex trigger? Or too much work for not much gain?
>>
>>29983371
If you like spending more into the gun than what you bought it for then knock yourself out
>>
>>29983371
Want a $300 gun with great trigger out of the box? Get a PPX
>>
>>29983392
>that grip
What the fuck
>>
>>29983371

It's just fine without it.

Those stock images are deceiving. It's just as bulky as a hi point irl.

>>29983371
I got one two months ago and it's a cheap fun shooter. I painted it and carry it in a thigh holster every day at work in case of snek, put about 700 rounds through and had no issues. Trigger isn't great out of the box but it's not THAT bad.
>>
>>29983505
That's fucking wrong. I shot one and the trigger is fucking disgusting. Worse than the DA trigger on my SP101 and worse than the trigger on my Phoenix 22
>>
SD9VE $350 out the door (at my local fun store) Apex trigger kit $39 Apex spring kit $21 throw in $10 for shipping and when all is said and done you spent $419 instead of $500-$600 hell throw in $25 for the cost of having a gun smith install the trigger and spring kit and its still cheaper its just as reliable just as accurate the only difference after the fact is if you want to put a little money into it and the grip...
>>
>>29983722

I must have lucked out, mine's pretty gucci.
>>
>>29983473
It looks ugly, but its actually very comfortable to hold and shoot.
>>
>>29983727
Is the trigger kit even worth it? I got mine for $324 with tax at Cabela's, had $340 in gift cards so I picked up a white box range pack and a thigh holster as well. Maybe $20 out of pocket for the gun, ammo, holster.

Elephant leg has one of the best triggers I've ever shot.

My dad gave me one this past weekend as a late 19th birthday present. Ive only put 4 mags through it but I don't think the trigger is that bad. Its not as nice as his glocks trigger but not unbearable.

My only regret is its not a 9mm, but he really likes.40 so ill get used to it i suppose
>>
>>29983392

God that thing is so fucking ugly.

Ergonomically, it looks like a hot steaming pile of leukemiaids

>>
>>29984064
I like .40, but it's a bit more expensive to practice with. Also I feel like 9mm wouldve made a better learning round. Its my first handgun, after all.

>>29984085
.40 offers literally zero benefit over 9mm. Unless you consider snappier recoil, lower capacity, and no noticeable difference in ballistics benefits.

.40 was born from compromise, survived through fuddlore and government contracts, and should've never existed.

>>
>>29984111
What do you mean anon?
>>
>>29984118
It's basically a rich man's hi point.
>>
>>29983371
I have one and installed it. It didn't make it perfect but it did improve things. I really like the SDVE, its a good starter gun.
>>
>>29983371
Save your money. Friend of mine bought one because she's poor but needs a handgun. Thought it was a direct ripoff of Glock. It's fucking horrible. For the cost of that plus replacing the trigger, you could buy a Glock, do a trigger job yourself, replace the sights and still come out ahead.

If you're looking for a good, cheap handgun then get a Canik TP9. You'll save even more money and will have enough money left to buy a holster.
>>
>>29983505
This is correct.

They are like $290 online. Stop using your shitty LGS's inflated prices as a reference.

Get the best $300 handgun OP
>>
>>29985150
This. Either save up for a glock or get the 9e and have money for mags/ammo/range time. The stock trigger on the 9e is better than most striker fired pistols (barring the PPQ or something with additional work done)
>>
>>29984118
id argue the hi point looks better. at least ot has curves and is smooth. the grip texture, the blocky slide, the lump on the back strap all look and feel weird.
I had to sound fuddish but really there are only a handful of people putting effort into gun design anymore
