Help me /k/
They are building new low income housing in my neighborhood because my town doesn't meet the same "diversity quota" as the neighboring areas. So long story short they're importing niggers and I can't afford to move. I want a self defense gun but I'm not sure if what I have will be OK. My only concealable gun is a .38 detective special similar to pic related. The scary part for me though is that I bought it off a trucker I met and it has no papers with it and I don't see a serial number anywhere on it. So if I am forced to use it will I be in big trouble for that? Should I just get papers for it? Am I better off to just buy a new gun? Will this even be practical for self defense against the spooks?
>>

>defaced serial number
>no proof of purchase
Yes you are fucked, but thankfully this is a hypothetical scenario
Now your hypothetical revolver may be rated for +p and that'll definitely be enough to stop someone
And yes you should buy a new gun, .380 or .38+p is the lowest I'd go
>>
>>29981658
swing the cylinder out, examine the exposed area below the "arm", find SN
>>
>>29981658
>the trucker probably murdered 15 prostitutes with that gun

Guess who is going to jail if caught with it?.....

Save your prior-homicide revolver and bury it for the great happening. Then go out and buy a fucking shield or a cz.
>>
>>29981761
I don't think he killed somebody with it. He seemed nice enough. :)

Maybe it does belong in a PVC tube buried in my back yard tho...
>>
>>29981728
Going to jail for having alleged murder weapon?

Or going to jail for them finding a gun like that on me?

Or both?
>>
>>29981658
.38s in general are ok cc guns
that particular .38 that was potentially used in crimes is not
and im tired of this 'Im too poor to get a gun for a while and im stuck with what I got" meme. Eat some goddamn ramen noodles for a solid week and go sell some old shit you have laying around the house. That's an easy 300 dollars right there and enough for a budget cc gun
>>
>>29981789
Yes.
>>
>>29981810
I'm not saying I don't have money for a new gun, I just wouldn't want to buy a new one right now if I didn't have to.

>>
>>29981810
Seriously you can get a EAA Windicator for like $300. not a lot of money even if poor. Can save that up in 2-3 months just watching what you eat.
>>
>>29981824
>has a murder weapon
>Not sure if he should get a new gun

You need a new firearm, and you need to fucking ditch the one you have.
>>
>>29981873
Can I get serious trouble for having something like the .38 if they just find it and I haven't done anything with it? If so I think it might be backyard burial or sell to someone else time.
>>
>>29981910
Yes you can get in trouble for have an unregistered gun. Could be worst if the gun really was used in a crime, because it can be pinned on you. And I doubt anyone besides a gang banger would buy a gun with the serial number removed. (Huge sign the gun was stolen and probably used for some illegal activities )
>>
useful piece to drop
>>
the 38 special was carried by the police for over 80 years and a lot of people have been killed with them. it will stop the average person trying to harm you, personally i would recommend a 357.magnum but all i have is a 38. as well and i keep mine loaded with 158 grain lead round nose bullets. my point is if you shoot an attacker they will go down
>>
Revolvers are honestly piss-poor for concealed carry, especially when chambered in a caliber as weak as .38spl.
That being said, it would probably be sufficient against a single attacker that isn't hopped up on pcp or some shit, as long as you're well trained with your gun and you're wearing your lucky underwear.

That being said, you should get a subcompact semiauto chambered in 9mm or .45AlohaColoredPeople and carry it instead.

That being said, I personally own a cheap .38spl but would never dream of choosing to carry it over my Glock 26.
>>
>>29981728
But prostitutes aren't real people. Also, how will they know it's that specific .38 revolver?
>>
>>29981658
the serial is hidden in the joint of the cylinder, just open the cylinder and it will be in that elbow. if thats defaced, then yeah you got an illegal gun on a federal level and youll get feloniously fucked if you ever use it or get caught with it
>>
>>29982723
also to add, the actual serial of the frame will be somewhere under a grip panel. so dont just go off the cylinder, since those can be switched out and have a different technical serial than the actual "firearm" frame

as long as you wipe your fingerprints off of it, its a pretty good ham sandwich.

try to get something like an LCR or LCP used so you don't have to worry about your haunted trucker gat.

Yes

Nigger detected. Pls don't attempt to steal my wallet or I may have to shoot you, and who wants that?
>>
>>29981728
>cops have GPS on guns that tell them when that specific gun is used to murder

NCIS doesn't exist in real life. There are millions of firearms in circulation that can fire .38 special.
>>
>>29981852
>EAA Windicator
I wouldn't trust my life to one of those.
>>
>>29982922

They're actually pretty good
>>
>>29982620
>weak as .38spl.

.38 special isn't weak by any metric. The only thing that changed was .357 was developed.
>>
>>29982922
They are solid guns. EAA isn't Taurus.
>>
>>29982945
I've heard a lot of people report cylinder binding.
>>
>>29982961
no theyre not

Taurus makes good revolvers, just depends on what condition you find them in
>>
>>29982966

I've heard it but not seen it.

They're not my preference, not with Rossi in the same range.

So on the topic of revolvers, I have a 1950 made Detective Special.
I open the cylinder by pulling the latch with my thumb, reaching around the frame with my index finger and push the cylinder out. Is this tantamount to the hollywood swing?
>>
>>29981728

Real life isn't CSI where a techno goth bitch scans the barrel and it perfectly matches up retrieved slugs.

>>29981934

Wtf are you talking about registration? And again with the crime being magically linked to the gun. Is this retard night or something?
>>
>>29983514

A gun without serials is a booboo.

Go for it op, to be honest, you aren't as different as the niggers that live next to you.

Nigger.

Can't they examine the guns firing pin and match it to the indent it left of a casings primer?

A. Not really
ballistic science pretty much only exists to employ ballistic scientists and the expert witnesses that defense attorneys hire to "let me tell you why thats bullshit".
B.

ftfy

and a felony to do it.

but OP probably just doesn't know where the serial is. if there is a secondary under the grip panels he's good.
