Also, every Prius I've been in stays in electric drive for low speeds, like around a parking lot, with the engine maybe not even starting until speed exceeds 20 mph. I haven't ever driven one myself, but I actually wouldn't be surprised if it's not even possible to rev the engine, given that it wouldn't be running at low speeds like this.
