What it doesn't tell you is that a very high number of them were trucks and buses (the Highway of Death was fun). The F-111s, despite having half the aircraft and half the sorties (or less, I'm finding conflicting numbers), achieved 1500 kills on enemy ARMOR. So yeah. You tell me.

An F35 mission costs more than the launch of a spaceshuttle whereas the A-10 runs missions that on average cost less than a 30 minute commercial flight.
