Mechanical engineering student here, you're mostly retarded. The reason a presumably lead round will almost defs kill someone after as opposed to hail falling from it's arc's turning point is mass. Force is equal to massXvelocity. More force equals more kill. Thus more mass equals more kill.

Okay here we go...When a projectile is fired at any angle other than straight up or horizontal it's velocity has 2 components, a vertical (y) and a horizontal (x), the initial amount of each varies depending on the angle you fire at. As soon as the bullet starts traveling through the air gravity and air resistance will start to fight against the vertical (y) component of its velocity meanwhile the only thing fighting the horizontal (x) component is air resistance. Therefore the x component is hard to get rid of and the final velocity of the bullet will depend largely on the angle that it's fired at.
Close to vertical= high y velocity low x
Close to horizontal= low y high x
Regardless the projectile always travels in an arc shape because of gravity.
As to whether a bullet is lethal when dropped from really high. It depends on the shape and mass of the projectile because air resistance will eventually balance out the acceleration from gravity. It doesn't keep gaining speed forever.
