double barrels will always have a place in my heart, even though I know there's more practical options out there.

Anyone else fallen in love with outdated and mostly unpractical firearms?

I impulsively bought a vz61 and threw in an SBR stamp before I ever even shot it. Total will be about $900 all said and done.

I keep thinking about the cooler, more practical guns I could have bought.

That being said, its a super fun gun and pretty accurate. Ammo is cheap online, but the EVO would probably have been a better gun
>>
>>29972144
vz61's are cool as fuck though, I'd take one over an EVO any day of the week. I already have enough utilitarian guns though, more than I would ever need during the happening, so I can convince myself to buy interesting and unique guns

Dem shells... t-take them out S-senpai, let us see your bore.

I keep a 20 gauge Remington loaded with rock salt by the door. Make a wayward Brahma bull outrun seabiscuit, can't imagine what it'd do to an unwelcome guest
>>
>>29971856
Nice. I still had my granpa's old remington single shot shotgun. Basically it eat any shells you put on the barrel, but since it's kinda old (and blue), I only use buckshots and birdsshots

Try BP in shottie. You will have a dick like diamonds.

Probaby scare them and deter them.

Or

Make them just mad enough to shoot you in the face.

All I have is an ancient ithica hammerless from 1908. One of these sear springs snapped as I was detailing it so I've been unable to use it. Probably going to have to make the spring myself once I find thin enough springstock

>bought a damascus shotgun for rather cheap at garage sale
>research seems to place it mid 1880 ish
>locks functioned and the lockup was tight
>the stock was kind of rough
>still had some decent browning finish on the locks and receiver
>take it apart for cleaning
>the stock crumbled
>the screws were the only thing holding it together
>the 'finish' was old floor polish(?) and melted off with hoppes
>under the finish was:
>brazing on the tang
>brazing on the lever
>welds on the hook of the barrel(that were globbly but actually pretty well filed whee it mattered)
>the left handed lock's mainspring was snapped in HALF (bah gawd) and repaired with bailing wire and a bit of brass shim

All in all just the clusterfuck of this shotgun is actually entertaining in it's own way, seems to have seen some hard fucking use through it's over 100 year life.

I bet you don't even bring your katana and trilby to the range.
>>

I still haven't bought a fucking 20ga overland to match my 12ga.

I'm hopeless.
>>
>>29977647
O/U shotguns never appealed to me because they're almost exclusively used for trap and skeet, where as SXS shotguns have that reputation as coach guns, as well as trap/skeet
>>
>>29978288
I wonder if there were any handgun mods for a O/U yet. Imagine being a mugger and a fat neckbeard puts two 1oz slugs into your chest before dying of a heart attack

its a really odd setup they've got, not quite a lock box, but they do have manual ejectors

Your soul
Or
Your house
A Porsche
Etc etc
Each one is specifically custom made and not assembly lined
There's a video creeping on line that's 40+ mins of pure unadulterated gun porn showing the assembly process and fine tuning
(This video will have your dick dripping. With pre cum)
>>
>>29979309
A used one will run you about 4-10,000 before fitting/ tuning depending on condition and level of engraving. A custom one would be about what you are describing but if you need to ask about price before commissioning one they'd probably hang up as you are not nearly of the funds yet.
>>
>>29979354
>>29979309
Do the guns do anything special at all (other than the engravings)
>>
>>29979383
The fit is very nice and results in a very smooth mechanism that makes it slightly more accurate and much more comfortable to use.

Other than that they shoot the same shells and bullets as anything else. Unless you get a double rifle, in which case it will do the above and shoot some monster cartridges.
>>
>>29979015

I'm in the market for my first shotgun, and I've been seriously considering a break action gun because I love them, and I like a really idiot proof safety. I dig your o/us and was wondering if you had any recommendations.
