Yeah as much as people bitch about HKs being horribly overpriced, in the case of the MK23, the price is definitely worth it. This is a pistol that was basically built to be as indestructible as you possible could without making the whole gun out of cerakoted titanium or some other exotic alloy. Overkill for a civvy? Sure I'll give ya that, but still, I'm sure my MK23 will outlast me at the end of the day.
