So, to explain some stuff, first off I didnt necessarily keep to the original design, I built it to be vertically fed and horizontally ejecting.
Also, whilst having access to a mill, lathe and various other more advanced tools, I decided that in keeping with the reputation for simplicity the sten gained amongst partisan basement gun-smiths I would use as simple tools as I could get away with.
The end result is more crude than some builds, but quite functional still.

These things are SO crude, not worth the 200 bucks and dealing with the ATF.

Began drilling the rivet holes for the barrel bushings.

Began making cuts with a dremmel tool.
By far the most time consuming part of the process.
People make it sound like you can just zip one out real quick, maybe if I had utilized my more advanced equipment, but for as crude as they are it actually took a lot of work to do using the kind of tools an average guy would have.
Wasnt HARD, just tedious i guess.

So my method was basically to cut like, 80 percent of the matierial, then use a grinding stone tool on the dremmel until it was about 95 percent done, then bust out hand files to finish.

So, once again, I departed from the original design a bit.
I spot welded the bushings in instead of using rivets.
Rivets are fuckin gay and the original manufacturing spot welded around the inside of the bushing anyways.
I drilled 1/8th inch divots into the bushing to match the rivet holes and spot welded through the rivet holes.
Its actually a stronger hold that flimsy ass rivets anyways.

Honestly, the acceptable tolerances on this thing are so wide its hilarious.
Example, setting headspace. The bushing can be anywhere from flush to 1/8th of an inch away from flush with the magwell.
Maybe you arent a machinist, but thats a retarded high margin of error for something like that.

What you just wrote would be H2O2 (which is still a misnomer), but water is H2O, which is Di-hydrogen Monoxide.
H2O2 is hydrogen peroxide, which will kill you if you drink it.

Trigger group followed.
Took some tinkering to align right. The seer didnt wanna line up with the proper hole so I had to cut it a bit more.
You can see here how it was about an 8th of an inch off if you look at the back. The reciever was supposed to line up flush with the trigger group.
But its a sten, just cut the hole bigger if it dont fit.

So I assembled it partially and screwed around to adjust the action.
Knock off burrs, smooth things out

And it was finished.
Took it out back behind the shop, ran some rounds through it.
At first it jammed a fuckload.
Had to trim the recoil spring down a bit and put a stronger spring in the extractor.
Now ammo goes through it like shit through a goose.
