>>

This shit is my dream. I've always wanted to hop on a bike and just ride through the trails and plink around a bit.
Any suggestions or recommendations for getting started?
>>
>>29948489

Just sling em on your back ya big dummy!
>>
>>29948717
as in a starting bike?
>>
>>29948760
i have but the trails i ride arnt the smoothest and a rifle strapped to your back inst very comfortable for long rides
>>
I use a Bianchi M12 holster on an M13 chest harness when I go-offroading. You can add a pistol leash if you want further security.
>>
>>29948814
sadly im Canadian and we cant carry handguns in the forest unless you have a special trapping/hunting license and a restricted license
>>
>>29948781
Sure. Any suggestions over any other aspects of your trips would also help

I found lots of shit by searching for "motorbike mounted rifle scabbard"

I'm not seeing much that would allow you to draw and fire like a cowboy, but for just transporting it looks like there's tons of stuff you can do.
>>
>>29948847
ok for picking a bike how big are you, like im 6,5 and 170 pounds and my 250f has lots of power but if your any bigger a 450 would be a better option 250's do make good starting bikes tho. 4 stroke are better for just putting around and going up steep hills as well as fuel consumption and you don't have to mix(plus the bonus of a better sounding bike heheh) where as get a 2stroke if you want high power bands (makes it harder to get up vertical inclines) but rips like a bat outta hell. i dont know um what are some questions you have?
>>
>>29948858
hmmm maybe im just shit at searching, but what that guy has going on, on his bike inst to bad of a setup, balance would be goofy i imagine tho
>>
>>29948948

Ah, but not if you have gun on BOTH sides.
>>
>>29948966
aha this, this i can do
>>
>>29948920
Do you live in the US, if you do where do you ride. As in national parks or just wherever? Also thanks for clarifying about the bike I think the 450 would be a good start because I wouldn't have to mix
>>
>>29948920
Also what are you currently carrying?
>>
>>29948973

Better have two more gun on front so is balanced that way, also
>>
>>29948987
i live in Canada, British Columbia and its a 450 4 stroke you'd be looking for if your not wanting to mix, its only 2 strokes that need to be mixed
>>
>>29949001
carrying as in weapon wise? I have a sks and a mosin 91/30
>>
>>29949002
alas i do not, only the two rifles
>>
>>29949046

You can always get more

Maybe a pair of handguns welded onto the handlebars, with modified handbrakes to fire them
>>
>>29949033
I live in southeast texas so I have alot of Plains ans such to be riding through as compared to your forests? And yes as in weapons but also as in gear
>>
>>29949070
ok yea its all mountains and forest here, but for gear wise, if its a long hard ride ill wear all my protective gear boots,knee/elbow pads, kidney belt/back and chest plating (all on piece) and of course my helmet and in my back pack i usually pack a fuck ton of water, some tools for my bike, extra oil, gas, food, lighters, extra clothing, ass wipe and one of my survival knifes

A pic from a trip me and my buddy went on, can't imagine it's to helpful but thought I'd post anyways
>>
>>29949152
So how does it work in Canada, you just pick a piece of land to ride through or do you choose certain trails, or does it have to be a national park or something of that type?
>>
>>29949171
as long as its crown land(government land) you can ride pretty much wherever (most of Canada is crown land)private property if you have permission, any dirt trails that don't have signs forbidding motor vehicles, like in the area i live in people ride right from town out into the forest and just rip around on greasy old logging roads and shit, i know my dad and his friends cut out there own trails for quads up by a lake they frequent alot
>>
>>29949171
as long as your bike is registered and insured you can pretty much ride anywhere and shoot anywhere as long as its not national parks, city limits, private property where permission has not been given and for shooting its the same except there special areas guns arn't aloud in where its just bow hunting

you mean like this
>>
>>29949371
yea thats fucking perfect
>>
>>29948948
Why not buy two identical hard cases, put a rifle in one, then load the other with an equal weight in ammo. An AR in one and 8 magazines would be a pretty easy setup.
>>
>>29949392
yea thats a good idea as well
>>
>>29949222
Thanks for all the info man it was really helpful. Good luck with your rides hopefully I'll be able to start doing the same soon
>>
>>29949545
yea no worries, and good luck hope you get a bike and can start your own adventures and terrorize the plains of texas
>>
>>29949379
what you need is a nice scabbard. Find one that is lightweight, waterproof, and with molle. Then you could probably zip tie it to your bike.

btw, don't listen to all the people saying your bike will be off balance with your rifle. With a nice lightweight AR, you won't even notice it.
>>
>>29949592
im canadian cant get ar's, we have alternatives but there all like 1500-3000$ and im a poor fag but i get what your saying ill spend some time looking into good scabbards n what not, im sure the weight wont be to bad
>>
>>29949636
how much does your rifle weigh

Buy something like picture related & a good MOLLE backpack to attach it to and you're set. Or alternately you could always buy a gunbag..
>>
>>29949652
its a sks or mosin so 8-9 pounds im not sure never weighed them

I live in Utah, and this view is about a 45 minute ride from my door. Shit tons of NF and BLM to ride on all around, never have to trailer out bikes unless we are going out to the desert.
>>
>>29949933
Btw, that's my first bike, a 2000 Yamaha WR400F. If you want a kick ass trail bike, you can't beat the WR's for low end torque and trail riding.
