First things first, they usually put you on "profile" which means you get out of pt and don't get smoked as much, you will then go one of a couple different ways

No, I am not trying to become a neckbeard Rambo or a TV doomsday prepper. Obviously i can go to the gun range but i'm not confident that shooting paper targets like a self defense grandma will adequately prepare me. I suppose paintball would be a step above that since that is already apart of live training in boot camp, but i highly doubt competing against kids and teenagers is the same. SLRP (where they pay your loans) is usually shit compared to the GI Bill anyways, and you can't get both for one contract. It only applies to very specific loans, you have to wait quite a while before they actually pay them off (all the while having to make payments and accrue interest) and the cap isn't really that high on what they'll pay.
If you're only doing one contract, you're usually better off taking the GI Bill and just using your paycheck to pay off your student loans. The GI Bill is handily worth >$50,000, and can potentially be worth several times that amount depending on where you go.

I graduated from Fort Sill's BCT yesterday. Just stay out of 1-79th and it's piss easy. 1-79th is the closest modern basic can get to basic twenty years ago. If you get assigned there, don't fuck up.

Doing a ton of fucked-up sit-ups can really screw your back up over time.
Alternate between a few ab exercises. I like planks and leg lifts. Just make sure you're doing them right and engaging your core. You want sore abs, not sore shoulders/wrists.
