I've been an NFAfag for a while and decided I needed some fuddshit so today I picked up a Mossberg 500 12ga made in 1987 from an old man who had it for 20 years. There isn't a scratch on it. I found some rust on the magazine tube under the handguard/slide and a little wear inside the receiver from cycling and light shooting. Otherwise this thing is pristine.

you're making me feel bad about NFAing this shotgun.
All I would do would be engrave the receiver and then replace the barrel, tube, and slide. I could keep the original parts for hunting purposes. Besides, it's a $200 shotgun, not a piece of history.

OP here. I'm not into shotgats so I beseech the kollective for knowledge. My old Mossberg 500 doesn't have a drilled and tapped receiver. Would it be worth SBSing an older shotgun?
