https://www.varusteleka.com/en/news/oh-yes-m05-camouflage-pattern-loses-its-protection/_5732c199

FDF has decided not to renew M05's protection again and it expires in September, and Varusteleka is already preparing for the day, meaning that in less than five months /k/ommandos will be able to buy M05 -clothing. Is this awesome?
>>
Is that an AR CTR stock on an AK? I'm confused.
>>
>>29920107
2 minutes and 17 seconds and the thread is already derailed, well done /k/...

it's a prototype Rk 62M, FDF is modernizing its standard issue rifle Rk 62, design of which dates back to 1960, there are few designs going through trials to see which is the best solution, basically they are adding telescopic stocks, side rails for mounting optics and, possibly, some picatinny rails on handguard.

I think that is the case. Modern stocks are probably best thing that has happened to that rifle as the old tube stocks weren't on barrel line.

It's true. But it isn't samefagging when four people are legitimately having a discussion. Samefagging is when someone is acting like two different people in a discussion, especially an argument. The idea of samegfagging is to appear to be two or more different people.
>>
>>29920918
>>29921184
plus the rifle in the picture might not even be a Sako, it might very well be a Valmet (I know, Sako bought Valmet Tourula aka VKT (Valtion Kivääritehdas) in '80s, but the rifle might be a refinished Valmet/one that was never issued before being chosen for the trials phase of the modernization program)

They are literally milled AKs with non chrome barrel. Add autistic sub MOA quality control and presto you have a pretty accurate rifle.

When in priduction the civilian version of Rk95 known as M92s was sold for about 700 usd in todays money. Not that expensive for sub-moa.
And the reason for not chrome lining the barrel was the sub-moa accuracy requirement.
>>
>>29924956

Nah. The reason was that there wasn't the know-how to do so. I know a guy. Granted, non-lined barrels are marginally more accurate, but considering that RK is a weapon used almost exclusively by conscripts, lined barrels would be a more sensible and durable option, as the slight accuracy boost would be totally lost because individual marksmanship abilities are adequate at best.

1-1½, sure, but consistent sub-MOA? Proofs where?

It is in Finnish books regarding the rifle, but basically autistic quality control, non chrome barrel and good Sako ammunition is a key.

I'm proving you wrong. Sub-MOA is midrange bolt gun territory, and AK design doesn't lend itself well to precision. I'll take 1MOA tops, but beyond that you're going to be very hard pressed to produce proof.

Pic related, not subMOA.

Shot from 165 yards.
I'm no pro and I shot for the first time that summer but I'm pretty sure RK can do sub-MOA stack.
>>
>>29925329
>1 MOA, on a good day, rifles.
You see, the thing about MOA is that you have to produce it consistently. If you manage to hit MOA once every couple of days and the other times it's 1½, you have a 1½ MOA rifle, not a 1MOA one. Don't misunderstand, because 1½ is still really impressive, but by exaggerating the capabilities you're only doing it disservice.

>>29925336
165 yards and a 3" or so group? That's around 2MOA. 100yd and 1" group = 1 MOA. 150yd and 1.5" group=1 MOA.
>>
>>29925377
>165 yards and a 3" or so group

As you can see everytime I adjusted my stance/positioning shots moved.
>>

>>
>people finally get an RK
>groups average around 2 MOA
>this meme about DA BEST AK EVA can finally fucking die

>>29925461
A couple of things. First, M05 is a camouflage pattern and not a rifle. Second, I'm the guy who's arguing those two ignorant finns, and my Sako averages out at 1½ MOA which is pretty impressive for a service rifle.

So to summarise, you seem illiterate and/or slightly retarded.

Remember there is more to milspec than just meeting the blueprint specs.

So I guess you managed to get that one specimen that consistently does .6 MOA when everyone else's rifle is struggling to produce 3" groups at 100 yards. Congratulations I guess.

>>29926110

Carbon copy != issued. Tighter tolerances translate to higher costs, and issued rifles are going to see every cost cutting measure applied.

I'm fairly sure only the Swiss are so autistic that they demand sub MOA accuracy of their service rifles.

Don't think you know what that entails boyo, you're comparing practical accuracy to inherent accuracy which are two very different things

Issued ARs are expected to meet a 3 MOA MINIMUM capability. As in that's the absolute max they're allowed to deviate in group spread. You're a fucking idiot if you think that's all they're capable of

Even if we say that every rifle is going to beat 3MOA, it's unlikely that we'll be seeing specimens that produce consistent subMOA results.
